The posting

Join LIFE, Inc. - Halifax as a Direct Support Professional in Rocky Mount, NC. In this rewarding role, you will support individuals with daily living activities, promoting their independence and well-being. You will work closely with clients to assist them with personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, and community engagement, all while fostering a safe and supportive environment. This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $17.50, paid bi-weekly, with flexible part-time shifts available on both the first and second shifts.

Shifts

  • Flexible part-time shift 1on1 available.
  • Second shifts part-time

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance and supervision to clients with dressing, bathing, toileting, and other self-care tasks.
  • Support clients during meals, encouraging family-style dining and proper nutrition.
  • Help clients with housekeeping duties including clothing care, household cleaning, and yard maintenance.
  • Assist clients in meal preparation and administration of nutritional supplements.
  • Administer prescribed medications accurately and safely according to established protocols.
  • Implement prescribed diets and facilitate the use of adaptive equipment as needed.
  • Follow behavior support programs, maintain thorough data collection, and adhere to all safety procedures.
  • Support clients in active treatment plans by training on objectives, recording progress, and assisting in the achievement of service goals.
  • Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team and communicate client information as directed by supervisory staff.
  • Transport clients safely using company vehicles as required.
  • Provide support during community outings, school activities, and day programs.
  • Perform additional assigned duties to support client well-being and organizational goals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED minimum.
  • Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • No previous experience required; training will be provided.
