Job Overview

IQVIA is seeking an accomplished marketing and communications executive to lead its global Marketing, Communications & Insights organization and its next phase of evolution. This leader will set the strategy and execute key programs for enterprise marketing, product and portfolio marketing, corporate communications, corporate affairs, customer insights, and related capabilities, while aligning business unit and regional teams around common priorities, standards, and measurable growth outcomes.

The Vice President will strengthen the connection between IQVIA’s enterprise brand, its portfolio of products and services, and the needs of clients and markets. The role will tightly integrate marketing and communications with product, sales, business, strategy, and go-to-market teams to increase product uptake, support client and segment strategies, and deliver a more connected company experience. This includes, but is not limited to, events, web, campaigns, thought leadership, digital storefronts, differentiated positioning, and integrated go-to-market programs that support sustained business growth.

The successful candidate will bring strategic vision, a strong business growth orientation, and disciplined operational leadership. The role requires the ability to lead through influence in a complex global matrix, build high-performing teams, modernize capabilities through artificial intelligence and digital tools, communicate clear evidence of client value and business impact, and direct resources toward the highest-value opportunities.

Essential Functions

  • Set the global vision, strategy, priorities, and operating agenda for Marketing, Communications & Insights in alignment with IQVIA’s enterprise strategy and growth objectives.
  • Lead and integrate enterprise marketing, business unit and regional marketing, product and portfolio marketing, corporate communications, corporate affairs, customer insights, and other assigned capabilities.
  • Partner with business, product, sales, and strategy leaders to identify market opportunities, priority audiences, portfolio needs, and growth initiatives requiring marketing and communications support.
  • Build and advance a strong product marketing discipline that is closely integrated with product teams and focused on business line growth, including market and customer insight, segmentation, value proposition development, positioning, messaging, launch planning, adoption, and lifecycle marketing.
  • Translate IQVIA’s enterprise narrative into differentiated business area, capability, product, service, and offering-level stories that are relevant to buyers, make the value of products visible, and are supported by credible evidence of client impact.
  • Ensure marketing programs and communications are informed by customer, market, and competitive insights and are tailored appropriately across industries, geographies, audiences, and buying stages.
  • Partner with sales and go-to-market leaders to improve market readiness, sales enablement, and feedback loops; directly support client and segment strategies; and strengthen marketing’s role in client-level actions, with clear ownership and handoffs across functions.
  • Lead corporate communications and corporate affairs strategies that strengthen and protect IQVIA’s reputation and advance company priorities with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establish clear performance measures and reporting that connect marketing, communications, and insights investment to customer engagement, demand, pipeline, reputation, product uptake, client value, business growth, and other agreed outcomes.
  • Use data, analytics, experimentation, market feedback, and channel-level conversion insights to evaluate performance, improve effectiveness, and reallocate spending toward the highest-value growth opportunities.
  • Modernize the function through artificial intelligence, digital capabilities, marketing technology, automation, scalable content systems, and more visual and effective communications, while maintaining disciplined governance.
  • Define and continuously improve the global operating model, including decision rights, governance, planning processes, agency partnerships, resource allocation, and integrated delivery across events, web, campaigns, thought leadership, and digital storefronts.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a diverse, high-performing global team; build critical capabilities, strengthen succession, and foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Represent Marketing, Communications & Insights with senior leadership and other key stakeholders, providing clear recommendations and constructive challenge on market, customer, reputation, and investment decisions.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in B2B marketing, product marketing, corporate communications, or related disciplines, including at least eight years in senior leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a large, complex, global or multi-regional marketing and communications organization in a matrixed environment.
  • Proven success developing enterprise marketing strategy and translating strategy into integrated plans, operating mechanisms, investment choices, and measurable outcomes.
  • Substantial experience in product and portfolio marketing, including close partnership with product teams, segmentation, positioning, value proposition development, go-to-market planning, product or service launches, adoption, and lifecycle marketing.
  • Demonstrated ability to market complex products, data, technology, analytics, platforms, solutions, or professional services.
  • Experience partnering effectively with business, product, sales, strategy, finance, legal, human resources, and regional leadership teams.
  • Experience leading corporate or executive communications and working with reputation, media, issues, or stakeholder communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish assertive, evidence-based claims of client value and business impact and translate them into compelling product, portfolio, and enterprise communications.
  • Proven success designing and leading integrated, scalable, omnichannel go-to-market programs across events, web, campaigns, thought leadership, digital experiences, and marketplace or storefront channels.
  • Strong financial and operational acumen, including experience managing budgets, evaluating channel effectiveness, prioritizing investments, and reallocating resources toward concrete growth opportunities.
  • Demonstrated success in leading organizational transformation, building capabilities, developing senior talent, and delivering results through change.
  • Excellent executive communication, influence, judgment, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
