The posting

About You

You love Jesus. You know transportation, from buses and vans to the dealers, mechanics and paperwork behind them. You are a natural relationship builder who enjoys finding the right partners and turning those connections into solutions that work at scale.

You think in systems and turn that information into clear guidelines and practical tools that hundreds of people can use on their own.

You understand that for many students, getting to a LifeWise class depends on safe, reliable transportation, and you want every program to have it. You are organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated, whether you are working from your home office or on the road.

Above all, you know this isn’t just your career; it’s a chance to do something meaningful, serve others and make a life-changing impact on students with the gospel.

About the Job

The Transportation Support Specialist builds the partnerships, tools and resources that help LifeWise programs across all 50 states secure safe, reliable transportation. With more than 1,000 programs, this role focuses on solutions that scale: a national network of trusted partners for purchasing, maintaining and branding buses and vans, and practical guidance that programs can use to buy, register, maintain and staff their vehicles well. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Hilliard, Ohio or the surrounding area, including travel to transport vehicles, visit partners and support events.

The position also manages records for designated Support Center-owned buses and vehicles and, in coordination with the facilities team, transports vehicles to organizational events, training programs and maintenance appointments.

Local programs retain responsibility for their vehicles, drivers, regulatory requirements and day-to-day transportation operations. This position supports those programs through partnerships and standardized resources.

Responsibilities

Strategic Partnerships

  • Identify and develop trusted sources for quality used buses and vans
  • Build a national network of vehicle maintenance providers programs can rely on
  • Build relationships with vendors who adhere to brand standards for painting vehicles and applying LifeWise branding
  • Build and maintain relationships with bus and van manufacturers and dealers to create a clear path for programs to purchase new vehicles
  • Pursue partnership terms that benefit programs, such as preferred pricing or streamlined purchasing
  • Maintain a current partner and vendor directory that programs can access on their own

Tools and Resources

  • Develop state-by-state guidance on best practices and requirements for buying, titling, registering and inspecting vehicles
  • Develop vehicle maintenance standards, schedules and recordkeeping tools
  • Create tools to help programs assess their transportation needs, including vehicle type, passenger capacity, routes, operating costs and anticipated growth
  • Create a step-by-step guide and checklists for the vehicle buying process
  • Develop vehicle vetting checklists and identify partners who can inspect vehicles before purchase
  • Provide state-by-state guidance on CDL training and licensing pathways
  • Assist with vetting vehicles or complex transportation situations as needed
  • Gather feedback from programs to improve resources and identify gaps
  • Stay current on state and federal transportation requirements and update resources as needed

Support Center Vehicles

  • Maintain titles, registrations, inspections and repair records for Support Center buses and vehicles
  • Transport CDL-required vehicles to events and maintenance appointments
  • Coordinate with the facilities team to keep maintenance and repair records current

Qualifications and Experience

  • A mature personal Christian faith consistent with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
  • A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or the ability to obtain a CDL as part of the position
  • A clean driving record and ability to meet medical requirements for driving commercial vehicles
  • Experience in fleet management, student transportation, vehicle sales or a related field
  • Experience building vendor or industry partnerships preferred
  • Experience evaluating or purchasing buses or other commercial vehicles preferred
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
  • Working knowledge of vehicle titling, registration, inspection and CDL requirements
  • Ability to research requirements across many states and turn them into clear, practical resources
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a hybrid setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary and Benefits

  • From $50,000 per year
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage for qualified employees
  • Retirement plan, including employer match
  • Unlimited PTO for qualified employees

LifeWise Academy's hiring practices and EEO Statement are fully in compliance with both federal and state law. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
