Job Description:

About the Role

Intel's CPU Circuit Technology team is seeking a highly motivated Memory Circuit Design Engineer to drive the design and development of advanced memory circuits for future CPU and SoC products.

In this role, you will develop full-custom and compiler-based SRAMs, caches, multi-ported register files, ROMs, custom memories, and associated digital circuits. You will partner closely with experts across architecture, design, process technology, physical design, and product engineering to create innovative memory solutions that enable industry-leading power, performance, area (PPA), and scalability on advanced CMOS process technologies.

This position offers the opportunity to influence memory architecture decisions, drive circuit innovation, and contribute to technologies that are foundational to Intel's future computing platforms. The scope and complexity of responsibilities will align with the successful candidate's experience and technical capabilities.

What You’ll Do

This will be a fast-paced dynamic environment where you will work in the high performance, low power CPU design team on a wide spectrum of circuit activities including, but may not be limited to:

  • Design, characterize, and simulate advanced memory circuits.
  • Contribute to cache design, critical-path analysis, and custom circuit development.
  • Perform memory path-finding and evaluate design trade-offs to optimize power, performance, and area.
  • Develop and analyze memory bit cells, peripheral circuitry, and associated automation.
  • Contribute to memory array and IP design and memory circuit innovation.
  • Evaluate circuit behavior across process, voltage, temperature, and design variations.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, process technology, physical design, and product engineering teams.
  • Contribute to design methodologies, automation, technical readiness, and project execution.
  • Identify technical challenges, investigate alternatives, and help develop scalable solutions for future CPU and SoC products.

Revised to Behavioral Traits We're Looking For

  • Technical curiosity and learning agility: Eager to learn new technologies and build expertise in memory and circuit design.
  • Problem solving: Uses analytical thinking to investigate complex technical problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Ownership and initiative: Proactively identifies issues, follows through on commitments, and takes increasing ownership appropriate to experience level.
  • Collaboration: Works effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams and is receptive to technical feedback.
  • Communication: Clearly communicates technical concepts, findings, risks, and recommendations.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable learning and contributing in a fast-paced, evolving development environment.
  • Execution: Balances technical exploration with project priorities, quality, and schedule commitments.

Intel invests in our people and offers a complete and competitive package of benefits employees and their families through every stage of life.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a STEM-related field with 5+ years of experience; or Master's degree in the same filed with 3+ years of experience; or PhD in the same fields with 1+ years of educational work experience.

Your educational or experience described above must be in the following:

  • CMOS circuit design, memory design, circuit trade-offs for power, performance, and area.
  • Experience in Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) circuits and design methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in low-power implementation techniques.
  • Familiarity with circuit and layout trade-offs for optimized design.
  • Knowledge of industry standard digital circuit design tools, flows and methodologies, dynamic simulations, variation analysis, and signal integrity analysis.

Why Join Intel

At Intel, you'll have the opportunity to help shape future computing technologies while working alongside experienced architects, circuit designers, and process technology experts.

Whether you're beginning your engineering career or bringing established memory-design expertise, you'll have opportunities to learn, innovate, take on increasingly complex technical challenges, and make meaningful contributions to next-generation CPU and SoC products.

You'll work on challenging problems involving power, performance, area, and scalability while continuing to develop your technical expertise in advanced circuit and memory design.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
