The posting

On behalf of our client, a reputable Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specializing in industrial and building equipment, we are seeking a commercially driven and technically sound Sales Engineer to drive their system modernisation, replacement, and major upgrade business.

While direct background in their specific equipment sector is an advantage, our client is very open to considering technical sales professionals from adjacent building services, M&E engineering, retrofitting, or industrial automation sectors who have strong engineering-related sales experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & Pipeline Growth: Identify, pursue, and secure modernisation, replacement, and major system upgrade projects across commercial, industrial, and residential portfolios.
  • Site Evaluation & Technical Solutioning: Conduct on-site technical surveys to assess existing equipment conditions, site constraints, and client requirements, translating them into viable engineering solutions.
  • Tendering & Quotation Management: Prepare comprehensive technical proposals, cost estimations, pricing sheets, and commercial bids for complex tenders.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with building owners, management corporations (MCSTs), facility management companies, main contractors, and consultants.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate closely with internal OEM operations, engineering, and project management teams to ensure smooth handovers, compliance with safety standards, and realistic execution timelines.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of experience in technical sales, business development, or engineering sales within an industrial or building services environment.
  • Industry Background: Open to candidates coming from OEM backgrounds, HVAC/ACMV, Building Automation, Fire Protection, Security/Access Control Systems, Industrial Retrofitting, or M&E Contracting who have experience selling upgrades or service projects.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong commercial acumen, ability to read technical/M&E drawings, confident presentation skills, and strong proficiency in managing tenders and commercial negotiations.
