The Opportunity

Lincoln International is seeking a motivated professional to join its Asset-Backed Finance (ABF) team within the Valuations & Opinions Group in London. The team provides valuation and financial advisory services across structured credit, securitisations, and other complex or illiquid financial instruments. The role offers exposure to UK, European, and international markets, collaboration with colleagues across Lincoln International’s global platform, and the opportunity to contribute to a growing, entrepreneurial practice.

Associates play a key role in the execution of valuation engagements, taking responsibility for financial modelling, valuation analyses, and the preparation and review of client deliverables. They work closely with senior team members and clients, provide guidance and oversight to Analysts, and contribute to business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day execution of valuation analyses across a range of structured credit and asset-backed financial instruments, including CLOs, SRTs, consumer and auto ABS, RMBS, CMBS, fund finance, and other complex or illiquid credit investments. • Build, refine, and review financial models, including collateral projections, cash flow waterfalls, and valuation sensitivities. • Assess valuation methodologies and key assumptions, taking into account relevant market data and transaction-specific characteristics. • Review model outputs, underlying assumptions, supporting data, and written valuation conclusions for accuracy and consistency. • Prepare and review valuation reports and presentations, explain key assumptions and movements in value, and support responses to client and auditor enquiries. • Coordinate deliverables, deadlines, and recurring valuation processes across internal teams and geographies. • Supervise and mentor Analysts, support improvements to proprietary tools and databases, and contribute to proposals and marketing materials.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related discipline, with a strong academic record. • Two to five years of relevant experience in structured finance, securitisation, credit markets, financial valuation, or related fields, with experience in one or more structured credit or asset-backed products particularly desirable. • Strong financial modelling skills and understanding of discounted cash flow valuation, credit risk, structured finance cash flows, and market-based valuation inputs. • Experience reviewing analytical work, overseeing junior team members, and managing multiple deliverables. • Advanced Excel skills and strong written communication, presentation, and client-interaction capabilities. • Practical experience using Intex for structured finance analysis and cash flow modelling is required. • Familiarity with Python, VBA, or other programming tools for financial analysis and modelling is advantageous.

Professional and Cultural Characteristics

• High integrity and sound professional judgement, consistent with Lincoln International’s values of Excellence, Entrepreneurship, Integration, Collaboration, and Integrity. • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial, with the initiative to take ownership of responsibilities, contribute to team development, and support the growth of the practice. • Strong collaboration, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential client information professionally.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
