Position Summary

The Manager of Revenue & Inventory Management is accountable for maximizing revenue and occupancy across Lindblad Expeditions’ global fleet and land operations. This role works with a team on the development and the execution of pricing, inventory and promotional strategies, aligned with company objectives and adapting to market conditions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Oversee day-to-day Revenue Management operations, guiding the team in executing pricing, inventory, and promotional tactics across ship inventory, extensions, flights, and hotel nights, responsive to market dynamics and shifting business priorities.
  • Monitor booking trends, market conditions and KPIs to identify and address risks and opportunities.
  • Owns the creation, improvement, and maintenance of spreadsheets and dashboards based on revenue management metrics.
  • Tracks and reports on capture rate, price, and profitability on voyages, extensions, flights and hotel nights.
  • Balance short and long term tactics with brand value and guest satisfaction, aligning with company objectives.
  • Provide insights on product merchandising and maintain consistency throughout all channels.
  • Provides support and direction to the Revenue & Inventory Analysts to maximize revenue by balancing ship inventory, optimize pricing, and facilitate the upselling of premium cabins.
  • Analyze large data sets and deliver actionable executive level summaries.
  • Ensure compliance with global pricing and promotional laws and regulations.
  • Enhance Revenue Management processes and tools to improve efficiency, drive demand and increase profitability.

REQUIRED Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in revenue management, pricing, inventory management, commercial analytics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing pricing and inventory strategies to optimize revenue, occupancy, utilization, or profitability.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting booking/demand trends, pricing performance, inventory levels, and other revenue KPIs to identify risks and opportunities and recommend action.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience building and maintaining analytical models, reporting tools, and dashboards; experience with BI or data visualization tools preferred.
  • Experience analyzing large and/or complex data sets and translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations for business and executive stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance short-term revenue opportunities with longer-term commercial objectives and customer/guest experience.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence decisions across Commercial, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, or Operations teams.
  • Experience leading, coaching, or providing direction to analysts or other team members in a fast-paced, changing environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Revenue management experience within cruise, travel, hospitality, airline, or another capacity- and inventory-driven industry.
  • Experience managing pricing and inventory across multiple products, markets, or distribution channels.
  • Experience with revenue management, forecasting, BI, or data visualization systems.
  • Experience with promotional strategy, merchandising, or demand-generation initiatives.

Hybrid Work Schedule

Positions based in our New York and Seattle offices follow a hybrid work schedule, requiring employees to work in the office Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely Monday and Friday. Candidates must reside within reasonable commuting distance of their designated office.

Communication Skills

Using the English language, this person must have the ability to read, write, and comprehend policies, legal guidelines, correspondence, and memos. Must also possess the ability to effectively communicate--both in writing and orally--with a professional demeanor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear. The employee will also be required to write and type. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

COMPENSATION STATEMENT

Lindblad Expeditions determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living.

For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s location, level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
