Position Summary

The Labor Relations, Manager EMEA & LATAM will play a key role in shaping and executing LinkedIn’s labor relations activities across Europe.

Partnering closely with the Director, Labor Relations, this is a hands-on role combining strategic labor relations advisory and works council negotiation with the operational execution required to deliver these activities effectively.

The successful candidate will combine strong labor relations expertise and sound business judgment with operational discipline, project management and attention to detail, and will be comfortable moving between senior-level advisory conversations and hands-on delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Works Council Engagement & Labor Relations Advisory

  • Serve as a key Labor Relations partner for German works councils, building effective and constructive working relationships.
  • Lead and participate directly in works council consultations and negotiations, including complex or sensitive business and employee matters.
  • Advise HR and senior business leaders on works council engagement, labor relations risks and the implications of organizational change, restructurings, workforce planning, acquisitions and other business transformations.
  • Assess labor relations risks and recommend practical approaches that balance business objectives, employee considerations and local requirements.
  • Provide labor relations expertise on sensitive employee matters and investigations where works council or employee representative involvement applies.

Operational Delivery & Program Management

  • Own the end-to-end operational execution of labor relations activities, from planning and preparation through consultation, negotiation, resolution and follow-up.
  • Personally manage consultation and negotiation materials, project plans, trackers, timelines, documentation, meeting requirements and actions.
  • Lead labor relations workstreams associated with organizational change, restructures, acquisitions and workforce planning.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities across HR, Employment Legal, Communications and business leadership.
  • Manage multiple complex and confidential matters simultaneously, proactively identifying and escalating risks, dependencies or delays.

Governance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure consultation and negotiation processes are appropriately documented and aligned with local requirements and internal governance.
  • Maintain accurate consultation and negotiation records, agreements, trackers, templates, playbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor consultation timelines and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain visibility of labor relations activity, negotiations, risks and project status, providing clear reporting and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Identify emerging trends and opportunities to strengthen the effectiveness and consistency of labor relations practices across EMEA and LATAM.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Build trusted relationships with works councils, HR Business Partners, Employment Legal, senior business leaders and regional HR teams.
  • Act as a central Labor Relations partner during complex business transformation and employee relations matters.
  • Influence stakeholders on labor relations strategy, risk and appropriate engagement approaches.
  • Navigate differing stakeholder perspectives while maintaining effective relationships and progressing business objectives.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Labor Relations, Employee Relations, Employment Law, HR or a closely related discipline within a complex organization.
  • 4+ years of experience leading German works council consultation and negotiation processes while remaining closely involved in their operational delivery and execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience engaging with European works councils, including consultation and negotiation processes.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong operational discipline, organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage documentation, timelines, actions and multiple workstreams independently.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Demonstrated AI adoption mindset, with an openness to leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve productivity, operational effectiveness and ways of working.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
