Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Overview:

The Longfellow Hotel, a 48-room luxury boutique hotel, café, and spa, is seeking a knowledgeable, driven, and empathetic Housekeeping Supervisor to help lead our hotel operations.

The Housekeeping Supervisor will assist the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing all aspects of the housekeeping department, including but not limited to the hiring and training of housekeeping team members, contributing and leading an inclusive work culture, maximizing effective time efficiency within the housekeeping department and maintaining strong guest satisfaction. Additionally, this position will foster the culture of The Longfellow Hotel throughout the Portland business community and will require a sense of playfulness to help rethink luxury accommodations.

The Housekeeping Supervisor position is well suited for individuals who are highly motivated, with significant housekeeping experience, and want to make an impact on the hotel profession in Portland.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in managing the housekeeping department; including but not limited to: ordering, building schedules, building daily housekeeping boards, and inspecting all arrival rooms before check in
  • Works closely with the front desk team to understand all guest's who are currently in house and upcoming.
  • Able to lead and empower a team to exceed our guests expectations.
  • Provides coaching and support to all team members to provide an exceptional guest experience throughout this unique 48-room property.
  • Provides training to new team members, demonstrating all roles and responsibilities required of new staff, while encouraging creativity and authenticity.
  • Helps lead, inspire, and coach a team that delivers a service of excellence, while upholding the Longfellow Hotel brand standards

What you bring to the table:

  • 3+ years of experience in the hospitality industry
  • 1+ year supervisory experience, ideally in a luxury hotel
  • 2+ years of hotel housekeeping experience
  • Flexible work schedule, able to work weekends and holidays
  • Strong knowledge of day to day hotel operations
  • Commitment to embodying our values
  • Proficient knowledge of relevant software systems and processes
  • English fluency and French or Spanish preferred
  • Relevant Portland, ME area experience preferred
