Job Title: Associate Director Drug Product Sales

Location: California or East Coast, USA

Travel: 30 to 50%

Working Pattern: Remote

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to join Lonza’s Drug Product Services (DPS) Business Unit as an NAM Sales Associate Director. The role is focused on driving new business acquisition and expanding existing customer relationships across the NAM region. Working closely with Business Development, Global Sales, Account Management, and Marketing teams, you will promote Lonza’s drug product development and manufacturing capabilities, identify new opportunities, and support the conversion of prospects into clinical and commercial programs.

You will develop and execute territory sales plans, build relationships with stakeholders ranging from technical experts to C-suite executives, represent Lonza at industry events, and provide valuable market insights to shape business strategy. This role is ideal for someone with significant experience in biologics, CDMO services, or drug product development who thrives in a customer-facing environment and is passionate about delivering growth in a dynamic, global organization.

**It is essential that applicants have experience aseptic filling and fill-finish services, including liquid vials, lyophilized vials, cartridges, and PFS/syringes.

What you will get:

The full-time base annual salary for this position is expected to range between $158,000 to $223,650. Compensation within this range will be determined by the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and job-related knowledge. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package:

  • An agile career and dynamic working culture
  • An inclusive and ethical workplace
  • Compensation programs that recognize high performance
  • A variety of benefits dependent on role and location
  • The full list of our global benefits can be also found on https://www.lonza.com/careers/benefits

What you will do:

  • Drive new business opportunities for the DPS BU across the NAM region.
  • Identify and develop strategic relationships within target accounts—from technical stakeholders to executive leadership.
  • Build a deep understanding of the DPS market and customer landscape to differentiate Lonza’s services from competitors.
  • Analyse market trends and customer data to identify growth opportunities and inform go-to-market strategies.
  • Lead or support outreach initiatives (e.g. marketing campaigns, SME-driven presentations) to increase brand visibility and establish Lonza as a leader in biologics drug product services.
  • Stay informed on regional biotech/pharma ecosystems and the CDMO competitive landscape.
  • Collaborate across internal functions to ensure alignment and support for key opportunities within your territory.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a life sciences discipline (e.g. Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ experience commercial experience in the CDMO or pharmaceutical industry
  • Fluent written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage
  • Strong ability to navigate complex matrix organizations and build effective internal networks to support regional sales efforts.
  • Proven track record in sales of aseptic filling and fill-finish services, including liquid vials, lyophilized vials, cartridges, and PFS/syringes.
  • Experience selling to a broad customer base—from start-ups to large pharmaceutical companies—is essential.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, particularly Salesforce.com, is preferred.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
