The posting

Lotus Group is proud to partner with an Edmonton-based technology company that designs and builds advanced precision lighting solutions for customers around the world, including organizations in renewable energy, advanced materials, and space exploration. As the company continues to grow, it is seeking a technically strong Systems Integration Manager to lead complex customer integration projects and support the successful delivery of innovative technology solutions.

Reporting to the Director of Operations and Quality, the Project Manager will serve as the primary connection between the company and its customer engineering teams, overseeing the co-development and execution of large-array and custom equipment integration projects. This individual will coordinate internal and external technical resources, manage project scope, budgets, and schedules, and lead one direct report while working closely with Sales, Product Development, Engineering, and Operations.

Core Values

Every member of the team is expected to embody these core values - not as aspirational guidelines, but as the lived standard of how the company works, communicates and makes decisions everyday.

  • Do the Right Thing - This is who we are when no one is watching. We do right by people and the planet - making hard calls, telling uncomfortable truths, owning our mistakes, and holding each other accountable.
  • Sharpen the Team - This is the environment we build. We add energy instead of draining it, assume good intent, and make it safe to be honest, take risks, and admit mistakes - because the team matters more than our egos.
  • Make it Happen - This is our engine. We don't wait to be told what matters, we keep going when others might stop, and we take ownership of outcomes - valuing impact more than effort.
  • Close the Loop - This is where it all comes together. We seek feedback from each other and our customers, learn equally from our successes and failures, and make sure we don't solve the same problem twice.

Role Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Customer Coordination

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle, from initial planning through commissioning.
  • Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, maintaining control of scope, budgets, schedules, priorities, and deliverables.
  • Provide clear and timely project reporting, stakeholder communication, and coordination across internal and external teams.
  • Work collaboratively to resolve project constraints and deliver high-value technical solutions that meet customer needs.

Technical Integration & Engineering

  • Coordinate the integration of the company's light-engine technology into large-area installations and custom equipment configurations.
  • Develop, review, and coordinate requirements, specifications, designs, drawings, and work instructions for engineering and design teams.
  • Apply systems-level engineering judgment across mechanical, thermal, electrical, optical, and control systems.
  • Support technical decision-making, sourcing, problem-solving, and coordination with external engineering resources.

Product Development & Commercial Support

  • Support Product Management in translating market requirements into product specifications and progressing work through the product stage-gate process.
  • Prepare preliminary and detailed cost estimates, design concepts, and project plans to support technical evaluations and new project sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product Development, and Operations to align customer expectations with technical feasibility and delivery requirements.

Quality, Process Improvement & Change Management

  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), including documentation, non-conformance reports, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Document and manage changes to projects and products, including Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen project coordination, technical documentation, and delivery processes.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and develop one direct report, supporting effective project execution and professional growth.
  • Build productive working relationships across engineering, operations, product development, sales, customers, and external partners.
  • Take a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach and support cross-functional priorities as required in a growing organization.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year program in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, Optics, or equivalent experience would be considered.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with current registration in good standing with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA would be favorable.
  • Minimum three years of experience in operation coordination and project deployment
  • Demonstrated systems-level understanding of mechanical, thermal, electrical, optical, and control systems.
  • Ability to prepare, review, and interpret technical materials, including product datasheets, wiring diagrams, and CAD models.
  • Strong project management, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and ability to deliver results through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally to customer sites, potentially up to 10% of the role and a maximum of five trips per year, subject to applicable visa or security-clearance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating complex, customer-specific engineering integrations or custom equipment projects.
  • Exposure to product stage-gate processes, engineering change management, and quality management systems.
  • Experience preparing project cost estimates and supporting technical evaluations during the sales process.

Cultural Fit

The ideal candidate will:

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, evolving technology environment and remain adaptable as priorities change.
  • Bring curiosity, sound technical judgment, and a practical, hands-on approach to solving problems.
  • Communicate openly and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Take ownership of commitments, maintain attention to detail, and balance customer needs with project realities.
  • Value continuous learning, personal development, and constructive teamwork.

Measures of Success

Success within the first 12–18 months will include:

  • Consistent delivery of customer integration projects against agreed scope, budgets, schedules, and technical requirements.
  • Strong customer communication and effective coordination of internal and external engineering resources.
  • Clear and reliable technical documentation, change control, and project reporting.
  • Meaningful contributions to QMS processes and continuous improvement.
  • Effective development and day-to-day leadership of the direct report.

Compensation

A comprehensive compensation package including competitive base salary, benefits, and additional perks will be provided based on experience and qualifications.

We thank all interested applicants. Please note that only those applicants who meet the qualifications and requirements will be contacted.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
