As a Mechanical Technician, you will support the Project Manager (PM) and team leads in the delivery of mechanical commissioning activities across data centre projects. You will act as a key point of contact for mechanical equipment, infrastructure, and control systems, supporting testing, troubleshooting, reporting, field coordination, safety, and training activities. (Cross functional support between disciplines is required).
  • Complete troubleshooting and fault-finding activities on systems, plant and equipment and log issues through the Automated Commissioning Management System (ACMS) - Compass.
  • Ensure a swift response to plant emergencies and equipment failures to minimise any potential impacts during FPT and IST testing.
  • Develop and review equipment-specific Method Statements, Systems of Operation (SOO) and Descriptions of Operation (DOO) to create test scripts that effectively and safely conduct testing in accordance with the commissioning test plan.
  • Execute test scripts for all mechanical equipment, ensuring all testing requirements are captured based on specifications, client requirements and project documentation.
  • Support field works as required by the leadership team, in conjunction with the General Contractor (GC), to ensure all works are completed in line with scope and approved test scripts.
  • Review documentation supplied by the Engineer of Record (EoR) relating to equipment upgrades, modifications and specification changes. Execute amendments as required, including control philosophy updates and changes to LOTO plans, and communicate updates to the commissioning team.
  • Report on daily script status, highlighting assets that have passed, failed, or have delays/cancellations, ensuring issues are logged immediately to support risk management.
  • Liaise with project teams to ensure any system modifications or invasive works are communicated to the commissioning team and appropriately resourced.
  • Maintain familiarity with site SOPs and ensure strict adherence to all procedures.
  • Support the operation of all mechanical equipment, infrastructure, test equipment and associated installation/deinstallation activities.
  • Support the operation of equipment via BAS and CX Manager control systems.

  • Ensure escalation procedures are followed for all safety or business-critical events.
  • Champion a culture of transparency and open communication between the client, LotusWorks and all project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with clients on activities requiring input, including AHU failures, over-pressurisation testing and utility failure testing.
  • Execute daily activities as delegated by the PM and leads.

Training

  • Complete all assigned training materials and Engineering Work Instructions (EWIs) to support knowledge retention and reduce dependency on key personnel.
  • Ensure all assigned training on assets, control systems, modifications and additions is completed within required timelines.
  • Support periodic review of documents within relevant document management systems.
  • Identify deficiencies in assigned training materials and support updates as required by the leadership team.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
