Automotive Accounting Manager – Columbus Ohio

Expanding automotive network seeks accounting management staff to fill immediate opening at recently acquired dealership. Prior automotive experience is required. Duties are expected to be performed in a professional, well organized and legal manner consistent with company policy.

Qualifications and Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and standard dealership accounting practices. Strong analytical and deductive reasoning skills are required.
  • Strong computer and data input skills with a high degree of accuracy, and knowledge of Microsoft applications. Dealertrack DMS experience would be a plus but is not required as we provide training.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills and attention to detail. A proven track record of being an excellent teammate with a collaborative attitude and eagerness to improve.
  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision or as an effective member of a work team while maintaining attention to task.
  • Available to work full time Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 am to 5 pm

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Performs activities involved in the maintenance and control of the general ledger. Reviews and/or initiates and posts journal entries; monitors posted financial data; researches and reviews transactions; and advises departments on proper coding.
  • Evaluates internal controls of systems and works cooperatively to provide recommendations for improvement to create greater compliance, transparency, and/or efficiencies.
  • Assists in the development of financial reports.
  • Works across departments to identify discrepancies in information of a financial nature for the purpose of resolving process issues and ensuring accuracy.
  • Responsible for maintaining detailed and complete accounting records to ensure accuracy of general ledger and audit compliance.
  • Provide management and supervision of in-store clerical staff.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by members of management.
