ABOUT LUMILENS

At Lumilens we are building the connectivity platform for AI infrastructure: 800G and 1.6T pluggable optical transceivers for scale-out networks, and near-packaged (NPO) and co-packaged optics (CPO) for scale-up. Every product is built on LumiCore, our in-house platform spanning silicon photonics, mixed-signal ICs, electrical-optical interposers, and optical systems, engineered for high-volume manufacturing from day one.

Founded in early 2024 and headquartered in San Jose, California, Lumilens emerged from stealth in August 2026 with more than $900 million raised, including a $700 million+ Series C at a $5.51 billion valuation co-led by Atreides Management, Bain Capital Ventures, Meritech, Seligman Ventures, and Spark Capital, with participation from Mayfield, Qualcomm Ventures, Peak XV, Redpoint Ventures, EDBI, and others. Our first scale-out product is qualified and shipping into production AI data centers under a multi-billion-dollar hyperscaler agreement.

This isn’t incremental innovation, it’s a ground-floor opportunity to rethink the optical layer from the silicon up.

If you're looking for mission, momentum, and outsized impact, jump on the rocket ship. We’re just getting started.

THE ROLE

This individual contributor role owns tax compliance for Lumilens’ Singapore entities, with a primary focus on Customs, GST, and transfer pricing, and support on corporate income tax. The role is fully hands-on with no direct reports: you will personally prepare returns, computations, reconciliations, permit reviews, and documentation, not only review advisors’ work, while partnering with supply chain, operations, legal, and US finance and tax leadership to build scalable tax processes and controls.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Customs & Trade Compliance

- Own Singapore Customs compliance for imports, exports, and re-exports of components and finished optical modules, including TradeNet permits, HS classification, valuation, and country of origin; manage forwarders, brokers, and 3PL/VMI partners.

- Optimise duty and landed cost through free trade agreements and preferential certificates of origin across Singapore, Thailand, China, India, and US trade lanes.

- Build customs SOPs, controls, and records; support export control screening with legal and supply chain; lead readiness for Singapore Customs audits.

GST

- Prepare and file quarterly GST returns, reconcile to NetSuite, and handle voluntary disclosures and periodic GST health checks.

- Manage GST schemes, including the Major Exporter Scheme (MES) and Import GST Deferment Scheme (IGDS), and GST aspects of contract manufacturing.

- Advise on cross-border supplies, zero-rating, reverse charge on imported services, and intercompany recharges.

Transfer Pricing

- Implement transfer pricing policies for contract manufacturing, R&D services, procurement, IP licensing, and management services; manage year-end true-ups.

- Prepare Singapore transfer pricing documentation, benchmarking, and intercompany agreements, keeping TP, customs valuation, and GST aligned.

- Support the global TP model with US tax leadership and monitor Pillar Two developments relevant to Singapore.

Corporate Income Tax (Support)

- Support ECI and Form C filings, tax computations, withholding tax on cross-border payments, and IRAS queries and audits.

- Provide Singapore inputs to the group tax provision (ASC 740) and R&D-related claims.

Tax & EDB Grant Governance

- Own EDB grant and incentive governance: track award conditions, milestones, and qualifying spend; prepare claims and reports; keep audit-ready records.

- Own the Singapore tax calendar and SOX-ready tax controls in support of a potential US listing; manage external advisors and budgets.

- Partner early with operations on new entities, trade lanes, and manufacturing set-ups to flag tax and customs impacts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Hands-on, individual contributor mindset: comfortable personally preparing GST returns, permit reviews, tax computations, and TP documentation end to end.

- Degree in accounting, finance, or law; CA/CPA, ACCA, or Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals accreditation preferred.

- 8–12 years of Singapore tax experience, ideally across Big 4/advisory and in-house roles (level determined by experience).

- Hands-on Singapore Customs and GST experience in a manufacturing, electronics, or semiconductor environment, and working knowledge of Singapore TP requirements.

- Comfortable building processes from scratch in a fast-paced startup, with strong attention to detail and ERP/Excel data skills (NetSuite preferred).

- Clear communicator who can explain tax and customs requirements to non-tax stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Semiconductor, photonics, electronics hardware, or contract manufacturing experience.

- Experience with MES, IGDS, or licensed warehouse schemes, and with EDB grants or incentive awards.

- Exposure to US multinational tax reporting (ASC 740) and SOX tax controls.

- APAC tax and trade exposure, particularly Thailand, India, and China.

WHAT WE OFFER

- A highly visible role owning Singapore tax in a fast-scaling deep-tech manufacturing company, where your work directly shapes landed cost, margin, and cash.

- Competitive compensation and comprehensive health benefits.

- Exposure to cross-functional and global teams across Singapore, Thailand, India, and the United States.

- The opportunity to build Singapore tax processes and systems from the ground up in a collaborative, ambitious environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
