PAYROLL & HR OPERATIONS COORDINATOR
THE ROLE
You'll process payroll across Australia and the UK, coordinate with our EOR partners internationally, and handle the HR admin that keeps employee records, contracts and Rippling accurate and up to date. It's a hands-on role where accuracy is everything: every person at Lyrebird relies on you to get their pay right, every cycle. Reporting to the Head of People & Culture and based in Cremorne (hybrid), you'll also be the first point of contact for People Leaders and employees on payroll and contract questions.
You're detail-driven and you like it when things are right. You get satisfaction from a pay run that reconciles first time and a record that's complete and current. You're organised, you follow a process properly, and when something doesn't look right you raise it early rather than hoping it sorts itself out. You treat confidential information with complete discretion, and you're comfortable in a business that's growing and changing quickly.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Process end-to-end payroll for Australia and the UK in Rippling, and coordinate payroll with our EOR providers
- Complete pre- and post-payrun checks, validating timesheets, leave, allowances, starters, leavers and variations each cycle
- Update employee changes in Rippling across the lifecycle: new starters, exits, promotions, transfers and changes to pay or working arrangements
- Prepare and issue employment contracts and variation letters for AU and UK employees
- Liaise with Rippling, Airwallex, Xero and EOR providers to log and follow up issues through to resolution
- Work with Finance on payroll reconciliation and month-end reporting
- Keep payroll and HR process docs up to date, and support the Head of People & Culture with broader HR admin
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Experience processing payroll end to end, ideally across multiple pay cycles or entities
- Working knowledge of Australian payroll compliance: STP, super and Payday Super, NES and Modern Awards
- Experience maintaining employee records and preparing contracts or variation letters in an HRIS
- A track record of accurate, organised admin work handling confidential employee information
NICE TO HAVE
- Hands-on Rippling experience
- Exposure to UK payroll: HMRC PAYE and right to work checks
- Familiarity with Xero and/or Airwallex
- Experience in a scaling or fast-growing business
