Your mission

Data wordt pas waardevol als het betrouwbaar, tijdig en bruikbaar op de juiste plek staat. Als Data Engineer bij Macaw bouw je precies dat: de fundering onder de rapportages, modellen en AI-toepassingen van onze klanten. Je ontsluit bronsystemen, bouwt robuuste laadprocessen en modelleert data zo dat anderen er direct mee verder kunnen. Wij werken met Microsoft-technologie, dus je gaat aan de slag met Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks en Azure Data Factory. Je wordt onderdeel van het team Data Solutions & Insights (DSI), tussen data engineers, Fabric- en Power BI-consultants en data-architecten die elkaar scherp houden.

Your profile

Jouw dagelijkse werkzaamheden hangen af van twee zaken: jouw klantprojecten en jouw interesse in interne initiatieven. De klantprojecten variëren enorm, van kleinere organisaties waar je zelfstandig het hele data-platform bouwt, tot grote ondernemingen waar je deel uitmaakt van een projectteam en samenwerkt met projectmanagers, solution architects en andere engineers. Onze klanten bevinden zich met name in Nederland en Duitsland.

Onze interne projecten draaien om jouw interesse: ben je gepassioneerd door Microsoft Fabric, AI en Copilot, Azure Databricks, of wil je je verdiepen in data governance en datakwaliteit? Er zijn veel interne initiatieven waaraan je kunt deelnemen en waarbij je de kans krijgt om ook op andere gebieden je kennis verder te ontwikkelen. Denk aan ons Smart Data Platform - een data-platform-accelerator die we intern ontwikkelen en onderhouden, met referentie-architecturen, standaardoplossingen en herbruikbare laadpatronen - of Project ARA, onze accelerator in Microsoft Fabric om klantprojecten snel op gang te brengen.

Wat ga je doen?

  • Ontsluiten van bronsystemen (Azure SQL, Dataverse, SAP, API's, files) en het bouwen van betrouwbare, herstartbare laadprocessen.
  • Bouwen van data pipelines en notebooks in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory en/of AzureDatabricks.
  • Inrichten van Lakehouses en Warehouses in Fabric volgens een medallion-architectuur (bronze, silver, gold).
  • Modelleren van data tot overzichtelijke, goed presterende sterschema's waar onze Power BI-consultants direct mee verder kunnen. Voor de implementatie gebruik je SQL, Python, PySpark of Spark SQL.
  • Beheren van de klantomgeving in AzureDevOps of Git: deployment scripts, CI/CD-pipelines en release-afspraken horen bij jouw werk.
  • Monitoren, optimaliseren en troubleshooten van bestaande pipelines - op doorlooptijd, betrouwbaarheid én kosten (Fabriccapacity, Databricks clusters).
  • Vastleggen van je oplossing: documentatie, namingconventions en een overdracht waar de klant en je collega's echt mee vooruit kunnen.
  • Begeleiden van junior collega's via code reviews en pair programming.

Wat is jouw profiel?

  • Je spreekt vloeiend Nederlands en kunt professioneel communiceren in het Engels. Een goede beheersing van de Duitse taal is een grote plus.
  • Je hebt 3 tot 6 jaar werkervaring als data engineer of in een vergelijkbare rol binnen het data-domein.
  • Je bent sterk in SQL en werkt comfortabel met Python of PySpark voor datatransformaties.
  • Je hebt hands-on ervaring met minimaal één van: Microsoft Fabric, AzureDatabricks, Azure Data Factory of AzureSynapse Analytics - en je wilt je verbreden naar de andere.
  • Je kent de principes van datamodellering (dimensioneel /Kimball, sterschema, 3NF) en weet wanneer je ervan afwijkt.
  • Je hebt ervaring met grote datasets en weet hoe je verwerking efficiënt en kostenbewust inricht.
  • Je werkt met Git en AzureDevOps en bent bekend met CI/CD voor data-platformen.
  • Je bent vertrouwd met Agile/Scrum-werkwijzen.
  • Je hebt bij voorkeur de DP-700 (Fabric Data Engineer Associate) certificering, of je bent bereid die in je eerste jaar te halen. DP-600, DP-203 of een Databricks Data Engineer-certificering zijn een plus.
  • Ervaring met Microsoft Purview, datakwaliteitsframeworks of Real-Time Intelligence (Eventhouse, KQL, Event Streams) is een pré.
  • Je blijft op de hoogte van de nieuwste Microsoft-ontwikkelingen zoals Copilot in Fabric en agentic AI, en bent enthousiast om hiermee te experimenteren.
