The posting

At Maersk Air Cargo, every successful flight depends on precision, collaboration and sound operational decision-making. As part of Maersk’s global logistics network, our air cargo operations connect customers and supply chains while maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance and operational excellence. It’s an environment where experienced aviation professionals can make a real impact, and an exciting opportunity to play a central role in the safe and efficient delivery of our daily flight operations.

Purpose of the role

As part of our Integrated Operations Control Centre (iOCC), you’ll be at the heart of Maersk Air Cargo’s day-to-day flight operations, supporting safe, compliant and efficient execution through real-time operational coordination and decision-making.

In the role of Ground Control Officer, you’ll focus on Weight & Balance, load planning and cargo operations, working across internal teams and external partners to keep aircraft and cargo moving safely and efficiently, including during operational disruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage load plans, Weight & Balance documentation, Load Sheets and loading instructions, ensuring aircraft limitations and operational requirements are met.
  • Monitor daily cargo and loading operations, resolving irregularities and ensuring the correct handling of dangerous goods and special cargo.
  • Assess aircraft loadability and optimise payload distribution to support safe, compliant and efficient flight operations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, ground handling agents and other partners, particularly during delays, disruptions and operational recovery.
  • Identify and escalate safety, security, compliance or operational risks, maintaining accurate documentation and records.
  • Exercise appropriate operational authority, including rejecting non-compliant loading proposals and requesting corrective actions where required.

What we're looking for

  • Solid experience in airline operations, ground handling, cargo operations, load control, flight dispatch or a similar aviation environment.
  • Practical experience with aircraft loading and Weight & Balance, with cargo handling or operational control experience an advantage.
  • Good understanding of aviation safety, operational requirements and EASA regulations.
  • A relevant aviation, logistics or operational qualification; Weight & Balance / Load Control certification is an advantage.
  • Dangerous Goods awareness and an understanding of special cargo handling requirements.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, time-critical environment.
  • A safety-focused, structured and collaborative approach, with strong English language skills.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
