SUMMARY

At Magnolia, the Operations Assistant Manager is responsible for achieving Warehouse goals through successful process management, staff development, cost effective decision making, and maintaining guest satisfaction. This position works from the Magnolia Warehouse in Waco, Texas. It reports to the Operations Manager and has supervisory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet Warehouse objectives by forecasting requirements, achieving KPIs for each work unit, and executing personal accountability at the lead and associate level
  • Utilize all available technology to delegate associate tasks, track team performance metrics, and solve process problems
  • Observe all processes, workstations, and work habits to ensure ultimate employee and work environment safety; advise management of safety hazards or threats as soon as possible*
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and development to direct reports*
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding relevant issues, vendor/product, system information, or changes to standard operating procedures*
  • Assist management with the evaluation of the effectiveness of and recommend alternatives for work methods, procedures, controls, and staffing
  • Ensure Warehouse layout is aligned for maximum efficiency, reporting inefficiencies to management
  • Ensure all transactions within Warehouse management system are performed accurately to uphold inventory accuracy, accurate order fulfillments and receipts, and labor efficiency*
  • Maintain valid equipment certifications and ensure all equipment operators are using machines safely and efficiently while performing routine inspections of equipment; adhere to required maintenance schedule, and contact technician, as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Hard skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.

ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • 3-5 years of related work experience preferred
  • Forklift Trainer certification preferred upon hire
  • Must be available to work weekends, events, and holidays as business needs require

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is expected to utilize team lifting techniques when lifting bulky items or items weighing above 50 pounds and up to 120 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is subject to high temperatures and low temperatures. The employee is exposed to workplace hazards.
