Business Development Representative (Outbound)

MaintainX

Montreal

MaintainX is a leading mobile-first work execution platform for industrial and frontline teams. More than 13,000 customers, including Duracell, McDonald's, Shell, DHL and Volvo, use MaintainX to cut unplanned downtime and run better operations, across 13.9 million managed assets and 79.5 million completed work orders.

In August 2026 MaintainX became part of Autodesk, joining Autodesk Operations Solutions https://adsknews.autodesk.com/en/views/inside-autodesk-operations-solutions/, the organization unifying Autodesk's operations platform alongside Tandem, FlexSim and Fusion Operations. Autodesk's strategy is to converge design, make and operate into one continuous lifecycle: design an asset, build it, run it, then feed what you learn running it back into the next design. Autodesk had design and make. Operate is the phase that tells you what actually happened, and it is ours.

Montreal, QC | In-office, 5 days/week

The Role

You will be the first person a prospect ever talks to at MaintainX. Your job is to find the plant managers, maintenance supervisors, and operations leads at industrial companies who have a real problem we can solve, and get them in front of an Account Executive before someone else does.

- Run 70 to 100 outbound calls daily to maintenance and operations decision-makers at industrial companies across North America

- Build multi-touch sequences via phone, email, and LinkedIn that earn responses by speaking to real operational problems, not generic scripts

- Qualify prospects quickly and book meetings for Account Executives, focusing on companies where MaintainX can drive measurable impact

- Keep your pipeline accurate in Salesforce and follow up on every open thread without being prompted

- Partner with AEs to understand what is converting and sharpen your targeting and approach over time

At 6 months, success looks like consistent SQL attainment above 90% and a repeatable outbound motion you can defend. At 12 months, the best BDRs on this team are on a path to a closing role.

You Have

- Experience in a high-volume, rejection-heavy environment: sales, recruiting, hospitality, retail, or anything that built your resilience and ability to earn trust fast

- A genuine drive to pick up the phone: outbound call volume is the job

- Clear, polished written and verbal communication in English

- Demonstrated follow-through: you own your pipeline and your numbers without being prompted

- Bachelor's degree

Nice to have: experience with Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo, or Nooks; prior B2B or SaaS sales experience

This role is responsible for managing and supporting a customer portfolio based primarily in English-speaking markets (US/English Canada), requiring daily verbal and written communication in English with those customers.

We Offer

- Competitive base and uncapped variable comp: commission is paid on both SQL attainment and closed won revenue, with no ceiling on either

- Real career trajectory: BDRs who hit their numbers have a clear path to an Account Executive or Account Manager role. Most of our current AEs and AMs were promoted from inside, and the path typically happens between one and one and a half years

- Day-1 health, dental, and vision coverage through Canada Life

- RRSP program

- Unlimited PTO, not a gimmick; we take it

- $500 home office stipend and $1K annual L&D budget

How We Work We are in-person in Montreal, five days a week. We invest heavily in the people we hire: New Hire University, dedicated mentorship, and real sales training from day one. We are growing fast and looking for people who want to grow with us. Humility and hard work matter here as much as hitting your number, and the results speak for themselves: most of our Account Executives and Account Managers started exactly where you are starting.

Our mission is to keep the physical world running. Factories, fleets, hospitals and campuses stay up because the people who maintain them have tools worth using. That is what we build.

Compensation and benefits. Base pay is one part of the package. Depending on the role, compensation may also include commission, an annual bonus and equity. Benefits differ by country. For roles in the United States, Autodesk’s benefits are described at benefits.autodesk.com http://benefits.autodesk.com. For roles in Canada and other countries, the plan differs on health coverage, retirement and leave, and your recruiter will walk you through it.

Belonging. We take pride in a culture where everyone can thrive. More at autodesk.com/company/global-belonging http://autodesk.com/company/global-belonging. More on where this is going: Autodesk CEO Andrew Anagnost on building the future of connected operations, and AOS SVP Stephen Hooper on welcoming MaintainX to Autodesk.
