Job Description – Accounting Assistant

Context

Mallards Support Services Ltd (MSS) is a recently formed company at the heart of a group of philanthropically funded sustainability initiatives in the Isle of Man. Several legal entities are involved in addition to MSS: namely, The Shuttleworth Botanic Garden Foundation, Botanical Operations Ltd, Mallards Diggers Ltd, Mann, Milk and Honey Ltd and MMH Farming Ltd.

South African British technology entrepreneur Mark Shuttleworth lives on the Island and has been investing in these projects for over a decade. The coming year will see a significant increase in activity and, thus, in the number of people employed in the Isle of Man (expected to be over 40, but also to increase steadily).

MSS provides a range of administrative and support services to all projects on the Island. In addition, support will be provided to Mark Shuttleworth as an individual, via the creation of a family office, and to other projects funded by him; particularly, in São Tomé and Príncipe in Africa.

At the time of writing this job description in October 2026, an office for the company is being developed in Santon. MSS currently operates from a temporary base at Port Grenaugh.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
