Workshop - 2nd Class Mechanic Summary: Responsible for the repair, maintenance, overhaul, and installation of diesel engine equipment and related systems. This includes Everllence USA OEM and third party equipment such as two-stroke and four-stroke engines, turbochargers, fuel injection systems, and associated auxiliary equipment.  The role supports both workshop and field service operations at customer sites, shipyards, industrial facilities, and power generation plants.   Key Job Responsibilities:

Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related mechanical equipment. Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble equipment, components, and assemblies. Diagnose equipment malfunctions using testing and measuring instruments. Inspect parts for wear, damage, and compliance with specifications. Perform equipment testing and verify proper operation following repairs and overhauls. Set and verify clearances, tolerances, and component alignments. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, manuals, and work instructions. Use precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators, to ensure quality and accuracy. Operate forklifts, cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment safely as required. Perform basic machine shop operations, including use of lathes, milling machines, and honing equipment. Perform basic SMAW welding tasks. Maintain accurate service, inspection, and repair records. Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures. Support workshop and field service projects domestically and internationally. Perform other duties as assigned.

  Required Education:

Associates Degree in a technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience in diesel engine maintenance, repair, or manufacturing environments. Experience with diesel engines, turbocharges, fuel systems, and related mechanical equipment. Training or experience in crane operation, rigging, and heavy lifting practices preferred.

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and service documentation. Proficiency using precision measuring instruments (e.g. micrometers, calipers, dial indicators) and quality-control techniques. Basic machining and welding skills. Knowledge of safety procedures and industry best practices. Ability to document inspection findings and repair activities accurately. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of electrical and digital control systems is a plus.

Must possess and maintain an appropriate set of professional hand tools.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and aboard vessels, as required. Ability to travel domestically and internationally to customer locations, shipyards, industrial facilities, and power generation sites.

  Hazardous Conditions & Exposure The employee may be exposed to a variety of industrial and marine work environments, including:

Moving mechanical equipment and rotating machinery. Hot surfaces, steam systems, and high-temperature engine components. High-pressure systems, including fuel, hydraulic, air, and cooling water systems. Electrical equipment and energized systems. Noise levels requiring hearing protection. Vibration from engines, machinery, and power tools. Hazardous chemicals, lubricants, fuels, solvents, paints, cleaning agents, and compressed gases. Diesel exhaust, fumes, dust, smoke, and airborne particulates. Slippery, uneven, or obstructed walking and working surfaces. Heavy lifting, rigging, crane operations, and suspended loads. Confined spaces such as engine rooms, machinery spaces, tanks, and void spaces. Outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, humidity, rain, and sun exposure. Shipboard environments involving vessel movement, ladders, steep stairways, and limited workspace. Exposure to sharp edges, pinch points, and flying debris during maintenance and repair activities. Emergency repair situations requiring extended work hours or response outside normal schedules.

  Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all safety procedures are required at all times.   Pay range for this role is $28.85/hour to $43.00/hour.Your actual base rate of pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills and experience. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package.
