📍 Working at Mapon HQ

At Mapon’s headquarters in Riga, you’ll join a local team of more than 140 colleagues representing Finance, Sales, Partnerships, HR, Engineering, Client Support, Operations and other functions.

As a Junior Accountant, you’ll be part of Group Accounting, supporting daily accounting operations for several Mapon group entities. You’ll work closely with experienced Accountants and the Chief Accountant while collaborating with colleagues across our international organisation. This is an entry-level opportunity to build broad, hands-on accounting experience in a supportive and genuinely international environment.

💻 Role Description

We’re looking for a Junior Accountant to support our Group Accounting team with day-to-day finance operations across several Mapon entities. You’ll work with supplier and customer invoices, bank transactions, reconciliations, payments and month-end activities while learning from experienced colleagues. The role is designed as a clear entry point into an accounting career at Mapon, with the opportunity to grow into Accountant-level responsibility within time.

💼 What you’ll do:

  • Support daily accounting for assigned Mapon group entities, including processing supplier and customer invoices.
  • Register and process accounting documents in FITEK and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, making sure the information is accurate.
  • Help process bank transactions and statements, prepare payments and reconcile balances across accounting systems.
  • Process platform and corporate card payments, travel expenses, advance settlements and supporting documents for fixed assets.
  • Support month-end closing, VAT and statistical reporting, and audit requests together with experienced accounting colleagues.
  • Respond to routine accounting questions from suppliers and customers and collaborate with the wider accounting team.
  • Learn Mapon’s accounting processes step by step and help us find simpler, smarter ways to improve and automate routine work.

✅ What we’re looking for:

  • Higher education in accounting, finance or economics. Internship experience in an accounting firm or company accounting team is an advantage but not required.
  • Up to two years of accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of Latvian Accounting Standards (LGS); knowledge of IFRS is an advantage.
  • Experience with accounting or ERP systems is an advantage. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (we use Business Central) is a significant advantage; experience with 1C, Tildes Jumis or Horizon is also appreciated.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Experience with document digitisation systems such as FITEK, Telema or similar is an advantage.
  • Fluent Latvian and good working English (English is needed because we are an international company and work with colleagues from different locations every day).
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, responsibility and reliability, with the ability to manage several tasks in parallel.
  • Interest in using AI tools and finding opportunities to automate and improve everyday processes.
  • A learning mindset and genuine motivation to develop within the accounting profession.
