Ben jij iemand die jongeren écht weet te bereiken?

Onze secundaire school in Brussel is een diverse en dynamische school waar jongeren met heel verschillende achtergronden, talenten en verhalen samenkomen. We willen dat elke leerling zich gezien voelt en kansen krijgt om te groeien.

Voor sommige jongeren loopt dat pad niet vanzelf. Soms haken ze af, botsen ze tegen grenzen aan of hebben ze vooral nood aan iemand die tijd maakt, luistert en niet te snel loslaat.

Daarom zoeken wij een halftijdse (of voor 60%) jongerencoach die naast onze jongeren gaat staan en tegelijk mee de visie van onze school uitdraagt.

Wat ga je doen?

Als jongerencoach ben je zichtbaar en aanspreekbaar aanwezig op school. Je wacht niet tot jongeren naar jou komen, maar stapt zelf op hen af. Je maakt gemakkelijk contact en bouwt stap voor stap een vertrouwensband op.

Je werkt aanklampend. Wanneer een jongere afhaakt, geef je niet meteen op. Je probeert te begrijpen wat er speelt en zoekt samen naar wat nodig is om weer verder te kunnen.

Concreet betekent dit dat je:

  • actief contact legt met jongeren, ook met leerlingen die moeilijk bereikbaar zijn;
  • aanwezig bent waar jongeren zijn en voeling houdt met wat er bij hen leeft;
  • ook duidelijk grenzen kan stellen en wijzen op het belang van afspraken en structuur;
  • oprecht luistert, achter gedrag probeert te kijken en vertrouwen opbouwt;
  • leerlingen individueel begeleidt en samen met hen haalbare doelen bepaalt en opvolgt;
  • jongeren -individueel of in groepssessies- motiveert en blijft opvolgen wanneer het moeilijk gaat;
  • mee naar oplossingen zoekt wanneer schoollopen, gedrag, motivatie of persoonlijke omstandigheden voor moeilijkheden zorgen;
  • waar nodig de brug vormt tussen leerling, school, gezin en externe partners;
  • nauw samenwerkt met collega's en leerlingbegeleiding en relevante signalen met hen deelt;
  • mee de visie, waarden en verwachtingen van onze school uitdraagt.
