  • Review technical submittals, drawings, calculations, specifications, and project documentation for quality and completeness.
  • Assist in the resolution of technical issues, customer inquiries, and project challenges.
  • Support the development and maintenance of technical resources, design tools, standard details, and engineering documentation.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of company products, applications, installation requirements, industry standards, and relevant building codes.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Engineering Services personnel to achieve individual and departmental objectives.
  • Conduct recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training activities for Engineering Services staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
  • Develop and implement performance improvement plans when necessary.
  • Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards for team members.
  • Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture centered on responsiveness, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Support succession planning and long-term team development.

Project & Workflow Management

  • Manage daily Engineering Services operations, workload distribution, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor department capacity and prioritize projects to achieve established turnaround time goals.
  • Coordinate and balance work among internal team members and external drafting, estimating, and engineering resources.
  • Identify and address workflow bottlenecks, resource constraints, and service inefficiencies.
  • Ensure project deliverables are completed accurately, consistently, and on schedule.
  • Maintain visibility of project status and communicate priorities across the organization.

External Resource Management

  • Coordinate and manage third-party engineering firms responsible for engineering calculations, sealed documents, and related engineering services.
  • Oversee external drafting, detailing, and estimating resources to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to project schedules.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with external service providers.
  • Evaluate external resource performance and capacity to support departmental objectives.

Process Improvement & Technology Leadership

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, quality, and customer service.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows through automation, technology enhancements, and improved processes.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging software, digital tools, and AI-enabled solutions that improve productivity, responsiveness, and overall service delivery.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Operations teams to support business objectives.
  • Participate in strategic planning initiatives involving technical services, customer support, and product implementation.
  • Communicate effectively across departments to ensure alignment on priorities, schedules, and customer expectations.

Success Measures

Success in this role will be measured by:

  • Achievement of Engineering Services turnaround time objectives.
  • Internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Quality and accuracy of department deliverables.
  • Team productivity, engagement, and retention.
  • Effective utilization of internal and external resources.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
