The posting

    The Training & Development Intern will work alongside Marquette's Training team to help develop, deliver, track, and improve training programs for vessel and shore-based employees. This internship provides hands-on exposure to learning and development, business operations, communication, data analysis, and the maritime industry. No maritime or safety experience is required, we are looking for someone who is curious, organized, willing to learn, and ready to contribute.   Principal Responsibilities:

Support the Safety & Training team in developing and implementing training programs for vessel and shore-based employees, ensuring alignment with company objectives and safety standards. Participate in training sessions, employee orientations, and other hands-on learning activities, with opportunities to develop and deliver training content. Help review and update training content to reflect changes in safety procedures, technology, and industry best practices. Track and document employee training progress, certifications, and evaluations to support compliance and promotion processes. Provide administrative support for training initiatives, including scheduling sessions, preparing materials, and maintaining training databases. Research industry trends and regulatory updates to support the integration of best practices into training programs. Assist in gathering feedback from participants and compiling reports to measure training effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Other duties and projects as assigned.

  Qualifications:

Currently seeking an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Safety, or related fields.   Eager to learn and enthusiastic about developing skills in safety, training, and employee development. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Analytical mindset with the ability to gather, interpret, and present data to support training effectiveness. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to collaborate in a team environment. Confidence in public speaking and able to develop the ability to deliver training content accurately and effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn new software or tools as needed.

  This is a paid summer internship opportunity located onsite in Paducah, KY with internship dates ranging from mid-May 2027 to early August 2027 (can be flexible on dates).
