Job Description:
The EEG Technician will work under general supervision while performing an Electroencephalogram (EEG) utilizing specialized equipment that monitors brain activity to assist in the diagnosis of neurologic disorders and assists with specialized testing to evaluate muscle and nerve function. This position will collect patient medical history prior to testing, identify locations on the body where the electrodes will be placed, attach electrodes, and operate the recording instrument. Will assist the physician in conducting the studies, prepping the room and equipment, and preparing the final interpretation. Will perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Education: GED or High School education required. Graduate of an accredited program in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology or one year certification from college/technical school preferred.
Experience: Minimum one-year related experience and/or training preferred.
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
