2nd Shift Logistics Warehouse Supervisor
Position Summary
The Logistics Warehouse Supervisor provides direct supervision and leadership for all Shipping and Receiving operations across the facility. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of materials, finished goods, and inbound shipments while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy, employee development, and customer service. The Logistics Warehouse Supervisor leads associates, coordinates resources, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to support operational goals and customer requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, organized, and clean work environment.
- Enforce all Company Safety Policies, Procedures, and Safe Work Practices.
- Ensure compliance with warehouse, logistics, transportation, and inventory control procedures.
- Directly supervise Shipping, Receiving, and Material Handling associates.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities to meet production and customer demands.
- Monitor workflow and staffing requirements to ensure efficient operation and resource utilization.
- Ensure timely and accurate receiving, storage, movement, and shipment of materials and finished goods.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper material control, cycle counts, and transaction verification.
- Collaborate with production, planning, customer service, transportation providers, and other departments to support operational goals.
- Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, inventory issues, and operational disruptions.
- Evaluate training needs and coordinate employee development initiatives.
- Coach, mentor, and guide employees to improve performance, engagement, and professional growth.
- Apply corrective actions and disciplinary measures in accordance with Company policies and employee guidelines.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and documentation.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including safety, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy, on-time shipping, and receiving performance.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency, throughput, and service levels.
- Ensure all shipping, receiving, inventory, and operational documentation is completed accurately and timely.
- Support audits, compliance activities, and corrective action plans within the logistics operation.
- Maintain equipment integrity and report maintenance concerns for forklifts, material handling equipment, and warehouse infrastructure.
- Resolve day-to-day operational challenges effectively and professionally.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of warehouse, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or supply chain experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a warehouse, shipping, receiving, or logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, shipping processes, and receiving procedures.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, or inventory management software preferred.
- Forklift certification or the ability to become certified.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English and Spanish.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing shipping and receiving operations in a manufacturing environment.
- Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Kaizen experience.
- Experience with transportation coordination, customer shipments, and freight management.
- Knowledge of inventory cycle counting and inventory accuracy programs.
