The posting

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Regulatory and Compliance Specialist to manage environmental, sustainability, and regulatory compliance across our global manufacturing operations. This role identifies and tracks applicable requirements in the regions where we operate and sell, maintains audit-ready compliance records, and supports sustainability goals through accurate data, metrics, and reporting. The role partners closely with Product Management, who own product-level compliance, by monitoring regulatory developments, informing product teams of applicable requirements, and tracking compliance projects through completion. The ideal candidate is experienced in interpreting complex regulations, coordinating audits and reporting, and working cross-functionally with Product Management, Operations, R&D, and Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance

  • Monitor, interpret, and communicate global environmental, sustainability, and product-related regulations (e.g., EPA, TSCA, REACH, RoHS, Prop 65, Conflict Minerals), including new and changing requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a global regulatory register of applicable regulations, jurisdictions, effective dates, deadlines, owners, and status.
  • Maintain required regulatory filings, permits, registrations, and compliance documentation, including chemical and materials compliance for manufacturing operations.
  • Manage supplier and customer compliance data requests, and liaise with regulatory agencies and third-party platforms (e.g., Source Intelligence, Avetta).
  • Review and approve compliance documentation within delegated authority (e.g., [customer compliance declarations, supplier documentation, standard questionnaire responses]), escalating other items to the Director.

Product Compliance Support

  • Monitor product-related regulations (e.g., substance restrictions, labeling, SDS, market-placement requirements) and inform Product Management of applicable requirements and deadlines.
  • Track compliance projects owned by Product Management, report status and risks to leadership, and serve as a regulatory resource on interpretation and documentation.
  • Coordinate customer compliance inquiries, declarations, and audits, and work with procurement and supply chain to collect and verify supplier documentation.

Sustainability, ESG & Metrics

  • Support data collection and reporting for ESG disclosures (energy, emissions, water, and waste) under frameworks such as EcoVadis.
  • Develop and maintain compliance and sustainability metrics, including definitions, data sources, and reporting cadence.
  • Track and report performance to leadership through dashboards, identifying trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities.

Training & Internal Communication

  • Develop and deliver training on new or changing regulations, and collaborate across departments to embed compliance into product development and operations.
  • Maintain centralized documentation repositories for compliance records and audit readiness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Success Measures:

  • Regulatory filings, registrations, and permit renewals completed accurately and on time, with no missed deadlines in the regulatory register.
  • Customer compliance requests completed within agreed turnaround times.
  • Supplier declaration coverage and data completeness maintained at target levels.
  • Product Management informed of regulatory changes ahead of effective dates, with tracked actions closed on schedule.
  • Compliance and sustainability metrics reported on schedule and supported by audit-ready records.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Environmental Science, Chemistry, Legal Studies, Sustainability, Engineering preferred), or related field OR 3 - 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. and international environmental and product compliance regulations.
  • Experience with compliance reporting tools and platforms (e.g., BOMcheck, Source Intelligence, Assent, Enablon).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory frameworks and communicate them clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Fluency in reading and interpreting regulatory text, with strong attention to detail when working with large data sets such as bills of materials and supplier declarations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with sustainability and ESG frameworks such as CSRD, GRI, TCFD, or SASB.
  • Experience with emerging requirements such as the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), and PFAS reporting, and with sustainability data platforms (e.g., Watershed).
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a global or multi-site manufacturing company.
  • Regulatory certification or continuing education (e.g., REACH Training, TSCA workshops, etc.) is a plus.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
