Factspilot.com – European Media Network

MinBy™ | Denmark

Journalism · Fact-checking · Artificial Intelligence · European Cooperation

WORK WITH US FROM YOUR OWN EU COUNTRY

Are you an experienced journalist, freelance journalist or media project manager living in an EU country outside Denmark? Do you have professional knowledge of your national media industry, established contacts and an interest in international journalism?

We would like to hear from you. MinBy™ is seeking experienced and independent media professionals to help establish and develop Factspilot.com, an international media and technology initiative. Our ambition is to build a European network of locally based journalists, media professionals and project coordinators working together across national borders. We are particularly interested in candidates who already understand their own country's media landscape and can contribute from the beginning. You will work from your own country. Relocation to Denmark is not required.

ABOUT FACTSPILOT.COM Factspilot.com is an international initiative developed by MinBy™, a Danish digital media network comprising 1,522 ultra-local media outlets across Denmark's 98 municipalities, alongside a portfolio of specialised digital magazine concepts.

Factspilot aims to develop a scalable European media infrastructure combining:

  • Independent journalism and news production.
  • Fact-checking, source verification and documentation.
  • Artificial intelligence and editorial technology.
  • Automated translation and multilingual publishing.
  • International news collection and distribution.
  • Cooperation between journalists and media organisations across Europe.

Our ambition is to connect national and local journalistic expertise with a shared international platform.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are recruiting candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas.

1. FREELANCE JOURNALISTS / MEDIA PARTNERS

We are looking for experienced freelance journalists interested in contributing to Factspilot's development in their own countries.

Your potential responsibilities include:

  • Researching and producing journalistic content.
  • Identifying reliable national and regional news sources.
  • Conducting fact-checking and source verification.
  • Establishing relationships with local journalists, editors and newsrooms.
  • Contributing to cross-border journalism and multilingual publishing.
  • Helping develop Factspilot's national media network.

You may already be working independently, seeking new assignments or interested in becoming part of a larger international media initiative.

You do not need to own a company to apply.

2. JOURNALISTS / EDITORS / MEDIA PROFESSIONALS

We are seeking journalists and media professionals with practical experience and strong knowledge of their national media environment.

Relevant backgrounds include:

  • Journalism and editorial production.
  • Investigative journalism and research.
  • Fact-checking and verification.
  • Digital publishing and news distribution.
  • Editorial coordination and media development.

We particularly value candidates who understand their country's media structures, professional standards and relevant sources.

3. MEDIA PROJECT MANAGERS / NATIONAL COORDINATORS

We are also seeking experienced project managers who can contribute to establishing and coordinating Factspilot's activities in their own countries.

Your potential responsibilities include:

  • Identifying relevant journalists and media contacts.
  • Building national professional networks.
  • Developing international cooperation opportunities.
  • Coordinating local project activities.
  • Contributing to project planning, budgets and implementation.
  • Supporting European partnerships and potential funding applications.

Experience with international media projects, European cooperation or EU funding programmes is an advantage.

YOUR LOCAL EXPERIENCE IS OUR PRIORITY

We are particularly interested in applicants who:

  • Live in an EU Member State outside Denmark.
  • Have professional experience in journalism, media or project management.
  • Understand their national media industry.
  • Have relevant professional contacts and relationships.
  • Speak and write the language of their country fluently.
  • Can communicate professionally in English.
  • Work independently and take responsibility for results.
  • Are comfortable using modern digital tools and AI-supported workflows.
  • Are interested in international cooperation and long-term project development.

An established professional network and practical experience may be more important than formal qualifications.

EUROPEAN PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

Factspilot is exploring opportunities for international project financing, including the European Union's Creative Europe – Journalism Partnerships programme.

Selected candidates may contribute to the development of European cooperation projects, including the identification of national partners, editorial activities and project coordination.

Experience with EU programmes or international project funding is particularly relevant for project management candidates, but is not required for journalists.

WHAT WE OFFER

We offer the opportunity to participate in the development of an ambitious international media initiative from an early stage.

Depending on your professional background and the project's development, opportunities may include:

  • Journalism and editorial assignments.
  • Fact-checking and research activities.
  • National media coordination.
  • International project development.
  • Participation in European media cooperation.
  • Longer-term professional collaboration.

You will have the opportunity to contribute your existing expertise while working from your own country.

WORK LOCATION AND EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

Location: Your country of residence within the European Union, excluding Denmark. Work arrangement: Remote, with activities carried out locally in your own country. Professional profiles: Journalists, freelance journalists, editors, media professionals and project managers. Employment and cooperation: Depending on the role, opportunities may include employment or paid freelance and project-based assignments.

Working hours, responsibilities, remuneration and contractual terms will be agreed individually before any engagement begins.

Factspilot is currently in a development phase. The availability and commencement of specific assignments depend on project progress and financing.

Applicants may be unemployed, employed or self-employed. A registered company is not required.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
