Position Description

The McGill University Department of Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time position as a member of the Contract Academic Staff as a Clinician-Teacher or Clinician-Educator at the rank of Assistant Professor (Clinical) based at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). This is a Contract Academic Staff position and does not confer eligibility for tenure. The Department of Medicine is a leader in academic medicine. Our educational and research missions support excellent and innovative clinical programs across our teaching hospitals. The McGill University Health Centre is one of McGill’s major teaching hospitals affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Canada’s internationally renowned McGill University, located in the vibrant and multicultural city of Montreal, in the province of Quebec.

The Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is highly committed to the pursuit of excellence in clinical care, research, and medical education. As a relatively small division, candidates will be expected to demonstrate an appreciation for the breadth of physiatry and have a vision for how to grow it while demonstrating an ability to work as part of a team.

This position is focused on Palliative Care, an evolving area of practice within Physiatry. Clinical responsibilities include providing inpatient and ambulatory palliative care consultations at the adult sites of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), including the Royal Victoria Hospital and the Montreal General Hospital. Participation in on-call coverage within this area of practice is expected. The successful candidate will also contribute to the weekly Cancer Pain Clinic. Additional opportunities may be available to participate in consultations through the Alan Edwards Pain Management Unit and in general physiatry services at the Montreal General Hospital.

The incumbent will be expected to be actively involved in relevant aspects of McGill’s academic mission (e.g., research, teaching, supervision of students and residents, and involvement in academic and administrative committees).

McGill faculty members are expected to contribute to service activities within their units, the University, and the wider scholarly community. A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion is also expected.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
