Mecka AI is building the data infrastructure layer for robotics and embodied AI. We design and operate global systems for data capture, data labeling, and hardware-enabled workflows used by leading AI labs and robotics companies to train and validate humanoid and embodied AI systems. We work closely with frontier robotics teams to bridge real-world data, simulation, learning-based systems, and deployed hardware.
We also put robots to work. Through our Robots-as-a-Service model, we deploy robots into real businesses, closing the loop between real-world data and deployed hardware. We're backed by NVIDIA, Sequoia, and others.
THE ROLE
We're hiring Sales Development Representatives to own the top of our funnel. This is a hybrid role based in Toronto, reporting to our GTM Lead. You'll split your time across two motions:
- Data partnerships (70%). Qualify inbound data partnership opportunities and go outbound to find new ones.
- Robotics deployment (30%). Go outbound to find businesses that should be running robots through our Robots-as-a-Service model.
Your job is to create and qualify pipeline, then hand it off. You won't negotiate or close contracts. You'll be the first conversation every great deal starts with.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Respond to and qualify inbound data partnership leads quickly: is the data useful, who decides, and is there a real reason to partner?
- Cold call, email, and LinkedIn your way into conversations with operators and decision-makers, from life sciences and manufacturing companies sitting on valuable data to businesses ready to deploy robots.
- Research and build target account lists, and find the right people inside them.
- Run first-touch discovery calls and book qualified meetings.
- Hand off qualified opportunities with clean notes on the business, the buyer, and the need.
- Keep your CRM clean and your activity honest.
- Share what's working (and what isn't) to help build the playbook as we scale.
WHAT YOU BRING
- No SDR experience required. We'll train you from the ground up. If you've done sales, recruiting, customer-facing work, or anything where you had to earn a stranger's attention, that counts.
- You're comfortable on the phone and don't flinch at rejection.
- Curiosity: you ask the second and third question, not just the first.
- Work ethic and coachability. You take feedback and get better every week.
- Organized enough to manage a high volume of activity without dropping threads.
- Must be based in Toronto. This is a hybrid role, and Toronto is non-negotiable.
