RESPONSIBILITIES

Purpose of the role

Lead production team in conceptualizing creative vision of writer's, executive producers, and other originators' vision and drives its execution into a coherent, marketable, entertaining, or informative program/drama within stipulated budget and timeframe.

Scope of the role

Lead and supervise the work of the production team comprising creative staff, cast and crew- studio recording, outdoor filming, editing, packaging from pre-production till post-production phase in producing quality programs/drama.

Manage overall production planning, schedule, budget to ensure timely delivery of programs/drama.

Key responsibilities

  • Translate creatively a writer's, executive producers', and other originators' vision into a coherent, marketable, entertaining or informative program/drama
  • Work with production team on pre-production, overseeing scripts, script reads and rehearsals with casts; to conduct production meetings with creative and technical teams; Collaborate with all functions in production team, including technical crew, make-up, and styling teams to set the desirable direction for the show
  • To contribute ideas and contents for story developments, treatment, and script discussions
  • Lead production team in production - direct production crew and artistes on location and in studios
  • Lead production team on post-production which includes overseeing video editing, final music and effects mix of the final product before it goes on air; In charge of the direction and post-production (editing and show packaging) of drama projects
  • Assist Executive Producer in planning and budgetary of productions
  • Responsible for management of work within production budget given, and track production spendings for each programmes assigned
  • Responsible in tracking of usage and payment of creative services packages, facilities, crew, and talents for productions
  • Responsible for casting and managing talents and performers
  • Troubleshoot issues arising from the production
  • Ensure compliance of the production team to meet workplace safety and health regulations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 3- 5 years of experience in directing productions for Producer's roles and more than 5 years for Senior Producer's role
  • Diploma qualification minimally
  • Single and multi-camera directing skills required.
  • Strong panel work in managing complex live studio shows
  • Directing production: Plan camera shots for effective coverage to tell a story. Work within budget & within production timeframe. Direct crew to ensure smooth production. Manage the overall production. Ensure production is completed within stipulated timeline.
  • Communication: Deliver accurate, clear and concise messages that influence audiences. Ability to recognize when others are having difficulty understanding. Adapt to the needs of diverse stakeholders and/or complex situations.
  • Supervisory skills - Anticipate work challenges and take proactive steps to provide solutions and make recommendations.
  • Decision Making: Evaluate multiple strategies when developing problem solution alternatives, uses cost/benefit analyses to make well-informed decisions, Implement solutions to commonly occurring problems and addresses complex, unique problems as directed; decision-making impact may involve relatively significant consequences.
