DESCRIPTION Maintenance Technician 2 is responsible to maintain the life cycle of VIANT FREMONT equipment and tools including installation, calibration, qualification, troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems as well as performing preventative maintenance on injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment. Core equipment includes injection molding machines, molding robots and pickers, oil heaters, temperature controllers, water pumps, chillers systems, and air compressors. RESPONSIBILITIES • Repair, maintain and troubleshoot injection molding machines, automation, auxiliary equipment, grinders, dryers, etc. • Dismantle and inspect parts, rebuild and overhaul complete machines and troublesome machine components. • Service and maintain molding robotics, hoists, power, and miscellaneous material handling equipment. • Maintain and repair plant systems to include plumbing, ventilation, exhaust equipment, compressors, etc. • Perform electrical repairs to machines and equipment. Diagnose electrical / electronic malfunctions. • Work from machine drawings (electrical, mechanical, etc.), plans, sketches, and layouts. • Perform preventive maintenance activities on all production equipment in a timely manner. Use precision measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, dividers, levels, micrometers, etc. • This position may also have responsibility for some facility duties listed under the Facility Technician. • Other projects and tasks as assigned. REQUIREMENTS • Strong mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatic maintenance skills, ability to troubleshoot and repair all production facility equipment. • Proficient in the following trades or skills: welding (MIG, TIG, Arc), electronics wiring, air compressor diagnostics and repair, machine shop equipment, hydraulic circuits, and PLC logic very desirable. • Understand and carry out written and verbal instructions. • Effectively prioritize and conduct duties with minimal supervision. • Ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions where limited information exists. • Read, write and understand English. • Proficient with documenting work completed in report format.  • Medical device manufacturing experience a plus but not required. • Knowledge of injection molding equipment a plus • Ability to standing for long durations and able to lift at least 50 pounds. • Willing to work overtime and weekends as required. • Adhere to Viant’s expectations for maintaining and fostering a safe work environment and culture EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalency required. Associate's degree or equivalent from a 2 year institute and minimum 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Pay Range $34.00-$48.00 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Heavy Work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as; preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and or operation or machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distance close to the eyes. Ability to work where is sufficient noise to cause a worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level. Ability to work in a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. CONDITIONS Work is performed in either a production floor, clean room, warehouse, or machine shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
