A Day in The Life Of:

As Product Director you will help shape and deliver the next generation of connected patient-care products and experiences.

This role will operate across a portfolio that includes patient-facing digital products, mobile applications, connected devices, embedded software, platform capabilities, cloud services, data, and AI-enabled experiences. The Product Director will define product direction, lead through discovery and execution, and help create products intended for patients and healthcare systems around the world.

This is a hands-on product leadership role for someone who can move comfortably between long-term strategy and near-term execution, customer needs and technical trade-offs, and product vision and measurable results. The Product Director will also be a leader in building the Product Management footprint in Galway, including product practices, operating mechanisms, partnerships, and talent.

The role reflects the expectation that Product Management owns the problem and the outcome, leads through discovery, runs products with strong business judgment, and develops the product craft and the people around it.

No two days will be exactly alike. A day may include speaking with patients or clinicians, reviewing product and operational data, shaping a multi-year product direction, working with engineers on mobile or embedded-software trade-offs, evaluating an AI-enabled opportunity, or helping leaders make an investment decision.

Other days may focus on discovery reviews, roadmap choices, product quality, global-market needs, release readiness, or developing the Galway product organization. Throughout the work, the Product Director connects customer needs, business goals, technical possibilities, organizational capacity, and measurable outcomes into a coherent direction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and communicate a clear product vision, strategy, outcome-based roadmaps, and measurable goals for connected patient-care products and platform capabilities.
  • Translate patient, clinical, customer, technical, and business needs into prioritized opportunities and clear direction for Engineering and Design.
  • Own product outcomes across the lifecycle, from discovery and business-case development through launch readiness, adoption, performance measurement, lifecycle decisions, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead cross-functional product development across mobile, embedded software, cloud, connected devices, platform services, data, AI, cybersecurity, clinical, regulatory, quality, commercial, and operations teams.
  • Balance patient experience, safety, clinical and scientific rigor, security, privacy, regulatory requirements, technical feasibility, lifecycle needs, cost, and business value when making decisions.
  • Use customer research, field feedback, product analytics, experimentation, operational evidence, and market insight to identify unmet needs and guide investment.
  • Define success measures for quality, reliability, adoption, customer trust, patient and clinician value, and economic impact.
  • Evaluate AI-enabled product opportunities and technical trade-offs, including output quality, explainability, latency, cost, safety, security, privacy, and responsible use.
  • Build alignment across global stakeholders, communicate decisions and risks clearly, and create momentum in complex environments without relying on direct authority.
  • Help establish Galway as a durable product leadership centre capable of owning meaningful global outcomes and developing future Product Management talent.

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires an Honours Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 10 years of product management, Product Leadership, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience owning product strategy, roadmaps, priorities, investment decisions, and measurable outcomes for complex products or portfolios.
  • Experience leading highly technical, cross-functional initiatives in a global or matrixed organization.
  • Strong customer-discovery, analytical, product-judgment, and business-case development skills.
  • Technical fluency across software, mobile applications, cloud platforms, APIs, connected devices, embedded systems, data products, AI/ML, or related technologies.
  • Hands-on experience using AI-assisted tools and workflows as part of daily Product Management practice, including customer research, synthesis, analysis, roadmap development, requirements definition, communication, experimentation, and decision support.
  • Ability to identify and evaluate AI-enabled product opportunities while considering customer value, quality, explainability, risk, cost, privacy, security, and responsible use.
  • Ability to translate complex customer, clinical, technical, and business information into clear product choices and executable priorities.
  • Proven ability to influence across organizations, create structure in ambiguity, and communicate effectively with technical, clinical, business, and executive audiences.
  • Experience developing people, building team capability, or establishing product-management practices and operating mechanisms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience operating within global regulatory and quality frameworks (FDA, EU MDR, ISO 13485), including leading design reviews, risk assessments, and audit interactions.
  • Demonstrated track record embedding cybersecurity, privacy, reliability, and safety-by-design principles into product architecture and backlog decisions.
  • Experience in healthcare, medical devices, digital health, patient monitoring, connected devices, or another regulated and safety-critical industry.· Experience with patient-facing mobile applications and embedded-software or connected-device ecosystems.
  • Experience with identity and access, data interoperability, analytics, developer platforms, sensing, or global platform capabilities.
  • Experience managing product modernization, lifecycle decisions, technical debt, or global phase-in and phase-out decisions.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
