Job Summary

We are looking for a Project Engineer with experience in electrical infrastructure projects, preferably involving electrical substations and power distribution systems. The successful candidate will support engineering design, feasibility studies, technical coordination, and project execution, ensuring compliance with Singapore regulatory requirements and project specifications.

Candidates with experience in EV charging infrastructure projects will have an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, design coordination, and execution of electrical infrastructure projects, particularly substations, power distribution systems, and EV charging installations.
  • Conduct site surveys and feasibility assessments to identify electrical capacity, site constraints, cable routing, and installation requirements.
  • Coordinate with consultants, Licensed Electrical Workers (LEWs), Qualified Persons (QPs), contractors, and relevant authorities for technical submissions and approvals.
  • Review engineering drawings, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, and other technical documentation.
  • Liaise with SP Group (SPPG), EMA, SCDF, LTA, and other relevant authorities to ensure compliance with Singapore standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review technical specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and cost estimates.
  • Evaluate contractors' technical proposals, quotations, and designs to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, coordinate site activities, and resolve technical issues during design and construction.
  • Ensure that engineering works comply with applicable safety standards, quality requirements, and project schedules.
  • Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and relevant stakeholders to align project requirements

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Preferably 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in electrical substation projects, including design coordination, power capacity upgrades, and SP Group submissions, is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Singapore electrical regulations, SS 638, and relevant authority submission processes.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, engineering calculations, and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong technical coordination, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Added Advantages

  • Experience in EV charging infrastructure projects, including AC/DC fast chargers and associated electrical distribution systems.
  • Exposure to 22 kV/LV substations, transformer installations, and electrical network upgrades.
  • Knowledge of electrical load assessments, short-circuit calculations, protection coordination, and voltage drop calculations.
  • Experience working with SP Group on power connection applications, capacity upgrades, and substation requirements.
  • Familiarity with EPCM projects, particularly commercial facilities, petrol stations, or operating sites.

Preferred Candidate Profile

We are seeking a technically capable and proactive Project Engineer who can support projects from feasibility and design development through construction and commissioning. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with substation or electrical infrastructure projects, understands Singapore's regulatory requirements, and can effectively coordinate with consultants, contractors, and authorities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
