Job Description:

The Custodian team member performs routine maintenance on the building interior and exterior. This position is responsible for maintaining a schedule of when maintenance has been performed and when the next service is due. The Custodian works in a safe manner, recognizes unsafe situations, and takes appropriate action to ensure the safety of themselves and others in the building.

This is a seasonal, part time position that requires flexible evening, weekend, and holiday availability. This position has an effective start date on or after 11/2/2026, with the position ending ~90 days from start date.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate vacuums and carpet cleaning equipment
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms and public spaces
  • Clean surfaces inside an art exhibit
  • Operate pressure washers and carpet extractors
  • Use a variety of cleaning products including bleach and mild chemicals
  • Maintain outdoor areas
  • Perform routine maintenance on building interior and exterior
  • Maintain records of maintenance schedules and services performed
  • Recognize and respond to unsafe situations to ensure safety

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail
  • A positive attitude
  • Ability to remember and communicate information
  • Ability to follow and enforce safety rules
  • A flexible schedule; ability to work days and weekends
  • Professional demeanor in a public space
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 19 years of age

Work Environment and Physical Demands

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.

Work Environment:

This job operates in an office environment as well as a museum-type exhibit. This role routinely uses cleaning equipment such as mops, vacuums, and other cleaning tools.

Physical Demands:

Employee may be required to lift up to 60 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee will comply with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Work Schedule:
