Through the battles and the breakthroughs, we're there. Where will you be?

For over a century, our incredible teams have provided care for people when they need it most. Our people feel great pride in this, and they value the security and stability we offer. But it also means so much opportunity - to build on all that’s gone before, to grow your impact and gain experience that’s hard to find elsewhere.

As a for-purpose organisation with over 10,000 dedicated, compassionate people, we continue to offer more services and deeper care than ever before. With Mercy, you’ll have the chance to make an impact and gain experience that’s hard to find elsewhere.

At Mercy Health, it’s all about taking what we have and making it better.

To do that, we need you.

Join us as at Mercy Health, and help our teams deliver even greater outcomes.

About the opportunity

  • We are looking for a dynamic and visionary Clinical Services Director to lead the Medical and Subacute team in a full-time capacity.
  • As a Clinician, and part of a multi-disciplinary care team, you will provide quality client-focused care to patients, their family and carers, using a holistic approach
  • As a Manager you will be working with business partners and colleagues to support excellent outcomes for both staff and the organization.
  • As a Leader you will have responsibility for driving reform through the model of care, inspiring those you work with to excel, and directly supporting clinician accountability for high-quality outcomes.
  • As a Colleague you will have access to the support of Surgical services, Women’s and Children’s services, Better at Home services, Mental Health services and a specialised Geriatric Evaluation Medicine (GEM) unit and ward.

What you’ll bring

You’re resilient, compassionate and have a lot of heart and drive. Most importantly, you are committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred outcomes in an efficient model of care that utilizes both in and out of hospitals pathways to deliver best practice care.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • A vision of care pathways that drive continuous improvement through an evolving model of care
  • A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.
  • Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
  • The ability to identify priorities, empower others through distributive leadership, and foster a living culture of accountability for actions, performance, and outcomes across all levels of the workforce.
  • The ability to nurture strong and respectful relationships and contribute vigorously to a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience in Model-of-Care development, system redesign and change processes

Desirable but non-essential requirements include:

  • Experience at a major Tertiary centre
  • A specialty interest in General Medicine and / or Geriatric Medicine
  • A qualification in administrative studies e.g. FRACMA, AFRACMA, GAICD, Masters of Public Health etc.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and improvement projects
  • Research experience and an advanced degree

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders
  • A primary medical qualification, Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and Specialist registration with AHPRA

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
