Join Merit Chevrolet Co. as a Service Advisor/Consultant in Saint Paul, MN, where you'll be the key liaison between our service department and our valued customers. In this role, you'll provide exceptional customer service by guiding clients through vehicle service needs, facilitating communication between customers and technicians, and ensuring a seamless service experience that builds trust and loyalty.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and courteously and listen carefully to their vehicle service needs.
  • Review and explain repair and maintenance options, providing accurate cost estimates and timelines.
  • Schedule service appointments and maintain effective communication with customers throughout the repair process.
  • Coordinate with service technicians to ensure accurate diagnosis and completion of vehicle repairs.
  • Manage service orders, process payments, and maintain detailed records of customer interactions and service history.
  • Provide follow-up communication to ensure customer satisfaction and address any concerns.
  • Stay informed about automotive products, services, and procedures to provide knowledgeable advice to customers.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Service Advisor or related customer service role, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to understand vehicle service and repair terminology.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple service orders efficiently.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and scheduling software.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Greet customers, listen to the description of the problem, obtain customer and vehicle information • Secure agreement from customers before repairs; cover cost estimate; and approximate time when vehicle's work will be completed • Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacture's specifications, using maintenance menus • Handle minor customer complaints and misunderstandings • Follow up progress of each repair order during the day, contact customers by telephone regarding changes in the estimate or time promised • Handle telephone inquiries and return phone messages promptly • Deliver vehicles to customers and answer any questions, review work performed and explain charges and coverage • Assist the service manager as necessary

REQUIREMENTS

  • Two or more year’s related experience in an automotive service advisor/consultant position preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Professional appearance and work ethic.
  • Ability to work well in a process driven environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver license in the state that you will work and a good driving record.
