The posting

Meta is seeking a Hardware Engineer specializing in DC-DC power conversion to join the team responsible for designing and validating MTIA module power solutions. In this role, you will contribute to the design of complex DC-DC power delivery systems for high-power ASICs while leading validation, characterization, and testing efforts to ensure designs meet performance, efficiency, and reliability requirements from prototype through production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including HW Platform and ASIC to define efficient power hardware, execute comprehensive validation plans, and provide feedback to improve power delivery designs. You will also partner with industry-leading vendors to qualify power solutions for next-generation high-power requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead validation and characterization of DC-DC power conversion systems for high-power ASIC modules, including efficiency, transient response, thermal performance, and reliability testing
  • Contribute to design of DC-DC power conversion solutions including topology selection, component selection, regulation schemes, and control loop design
  • Develop and execute comprehensive power validation test plans covering hardware bring-up, functional verification, stress testing, and production qualification
  • Participate in PDN design activities including power plane design, stack-up definition, and placement analysis for power delivery networks
  • Execute hardware bring-up, debug, and troubleshooting of DC-DC power circuits using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads, and other lab instrumentation
  • Perform power integrity analysis using circuit modeling and simulation, closing the loop between simulation predictions and lab validation results
  • Define test infrastructure and automation strategies for power delivery validation across multiple hardware generations
  • Drive root cause analysis and failure investigation for power-related issues found during validation, qualification, or production
  • Collaborate with ASIC and platform teams on power delivery specification requirements, balancing efficiency, thermal constraints, and space limitations
  • Partner with external vendors to drive power solution design and qualify solutions through development milestones
  • Develop and document validation methodologies, test procedures, and best practices for DC-DC power systems

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in power electronics validation or test engineering with a focus on DC-DC conversion for high-power digital systems
  • Experience leading hardware bring-up, validation, and troubleshooting of DC-DC power circuits through production
  • Experience with power validation instrumentation including oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads, and thermal measurement equipment
  • Experience with power integrity analysis including correlation between simulation and lab measurements
  • Experience developing and executing validation test plans for power delivery systems covering efficiency, transient response, and reliability

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DC-DC topology selection, component selection, and control loop design
  • Experience with thermal-electrical characterization and validation in space-constrained high-power applications
  • Experience validating power solutions for high-power ASICs or accelerators exceeding 400W per device
  • Experience with test automation and infrastructure development for power validation

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
