The posting

Meta is seeking an experienced indirect tax professional to join our tax team supporting the infrastructure business area. In this role, you will develop and implement tax strategy for infrastructure business initiatives and partner with tax teams on compliance and reporting. This role requires working knowledge of US indirect tax rules and regulations, along with experience translating technical requirements into practical guidance for partners across the organization. The scope of ownership will be calibrated to experience, ranging from leading defined workstreams to setting strategy across Meta's infrastructure portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement tax strategy, or lead defined workstreams, supporting infrastructure business initiatives including data center, network, and compute investments
  • Advise infrastructure business partners on US indirect tax implications of planned projects, translating technical rules into practical guidance
  • Analyze indirect tax exposures, exemptions, and planning opportunities across jurisdictions where Meta builds and operates infrastructure
  • Partner with compliance and reporting teams to ensure strategies are correctly reflected in filings, provisions, and controls
  • Support engagement with state and local tax authorities and external advisors on infrastructure-related matters, including audits and information requests
  • Research and document technical tax positions, and prepare memos and supporting analysis
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in US indirect tax and assess impact on infrastructure projects
  • Improve and document recurring processes to increase accuracy and reduce manual effort as the infrastructure portfolio grows
  • Partner cross-functionally with finance, legal, procurement, and infrastructure engineering teams to gather facts and operationalize tax requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of indirect tax experience, including in-house, public accounting, or law firm experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Working knowledge of US indirect tax, including sales and use tax, property tax, and related state and local regimes
  • Experience advising on capital projects, asset deployment, or large procurement programs
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams and driving them to completion with limited direction

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience communicating technical tax concepts to non-tax partners
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • CPA, JD, LLM in Taxation, or Master's in Taxation
  • Experience with data center, energy, telecommunications, or capital-intensive infrastructure taxation
  • Experience with tax incentives, abatements, and exemptions for infrastructure and supply chain operations
  • Exposure to customs, duties, or cross-border hardware supply chain considerations
  • Familiarity with indirect tax engines or tax determination systems
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
