The posting

As a field service engineer, you'll be the technical expert customers rely on to keep their industrial equipment running smoothly.

You'll work both on-site at customer facilities across the EMEA region and at the technical service center in Merchtem, combining hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs with direct customer support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Technical troubleshooting: Diagnose, analyze, and resolve issues with industrial measurement equipment, electronic systems, and process control technologies.
  • Installation & commissioning: Install, configure, and commission advanced technical equipment at customer sites throughout the EMEA region.
  • Maintenance & repairs: Perform technical repairs, preventive maintenance, and failure analysis, both on-site and at the workshop in Merchtem.
  • Customer support: Provide professional technical assistance, both remotely and in person, ensuring customers receive efficient and reliable solutions.
  • Technical training: Guide customers in the correct use, maintenance, and operation of their equipment.
  • Continuous improvement: Collaborate with international engineering and technical teams to identify recurring issues and contribute to product and service improvements.
  • Reporting & follow-up: Document technical interventions, maintain accurate service records, and take ownership of your assigned cases from start to finish.

You'll spend approximately 40–50% of your time travelling internationally, while the remaining time will mainly be dedicated to technical repairs, diagnostics, and support activities at the Merchtem service center.

What makes you a great match?

  • You are fluent in Dutch, French, English, and German, allowing you to communicate confidently with customers and colleagues across the EMEA region.
  • You have a solid understanding of electrical systems, industrial electronics, and wiring.
  • You have hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial electronics or control systems.
  • Ideally, you have at least 2 years of experience in field service, industrial maintenance, or a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with measurement equipment, process control systems, or industrial communication protocols (Modbus, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and PROFIBUS) is a strong advantage.
  • You're independent, proactive, and reliable, taking full ownership of your tasks and following through on your commitments.
  • You're customer-oriented and communicative, keeping customers and colleagues informed throughout the process.
  • You're comfortable working with targets, KPIs, and service deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • You're flexible and enthusiastic about international travel (approximately 50%), including overnight stays across the EMEA region.
  • You hold a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.
