The posting

Would you like to help reduce the carbon footprint of public transport and infrastructure? And are you skilled at carbon calculations, LCAs, circular economy and similar tasks? Then we have an exciting and meaningful student job for you.

The Sustainability and Mobility Unit is looking for a student assistant to support a range of tasks, particularly within carbon calculations. Within sustainability, the Unit works especially with carbon reductions, circular economy and biodiversity, as well as ESG and reporting. The Unit is also responsible for analysing revenue and passenger numbers on existing lines, as well as planning new lines. As a student assistant, you will primarily assist with carbon calculations and the preparation of LCAs (Life Cycle Assessments) regarding Metroselskabet’s construction projects. In addition, you will be expected to contribute to various other tasks within both sustainability and the Unit’s other areas of responsibility.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Solid knowledge of, and preferably experience with, carbon calculations and LCAs
  • Knowledge of the construction industry from a sustainability perspective
  • Technical understanding of key materials used in construction projects, such as concrete and steel
  • Experience with data processing and quantitative analysis
  • Experience using Excel for managing large datasets
  • Solid analytical and written communication skills
  • Curious, service minded and able to work with minimal supervision on your tasks
  • Is pursuing a relevant university degree (Bachelor's/Master's level), such as at DTU Sustain, Sustainable Cities (AAU), or another relevant programme, and have completed at least your 4th semester
  • Comfortable in an environment where the language switches between Danish and English
  • Some level of proficiency in reading and writing Danish is an advantage

Working at Metroselskabet We offer an exciting student job with valuable practical experience at a high-profile organization responsible for the operation, maintenance and expansion of the Metro in Copenhagen and Frederiksberg. Metroselskabet has a clear goal to halve the carbon footprint from the construction of new metro lines and works broadly to improve its impact on society. You will be employed in the Sustainability and Mobility Unit, made up of experienced employees with diverse knowledge who work closely together – and across the organization. We take pride in delivering high-quality work, but we also place great emphasis on employee well-being and having fun along the way. The Unit consists of three teams – Sustainability, Planning, and Passenger Economy.

The working hours are approximately 15 hours per week on average and can be arranged flexibly around your studies and exam periods. Start date end of November 2026, or as soon as possible.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
