Job Description Summary
Athletic Equipment Manager is responsible for ordering, inventory, issuance, use, maintenance, and laundering of athletic department equipment and apparel for assigned sports according to any and all NCAA, MAC & Miami University polices. (Millett Hall Location)
Job Description
Essential Duties
- Issue athletic equipment & apparel for assigned/specified teams for assigned location and athletic teams (25%)
- Prepare & order athletic equipment & apparel for assigned/specified teams for assigned location within fiscal resources allocated. (15%)
- Maintenance & Repair of athletic equipment, apparel and locker rooms for assigned/specified teams for assigned location. (15%)
- Inventory of athletic equipment & apparel for assigned/specified teams for assigned location. (10%)
- Launder athletic equipment, apparel, sports medicine supplies, and game operations supplies for assigned/specified teams for assigned location. (20%)
- Assist in assigned/specified teams sports equipment budget & billing. Assist/build and grow relationships with on campus and external vendors. (5%)
- Supervise, train, develop, & budget assigned student managers. (10%)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Sports/Athletic Administration, Physical Education, Game Operations, or Athletic Facility Management; less than 12 months of experience; AEMA Certified (Athletic Equipment Managers Association). Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience providing the knowledge/skills/abilities listed above may be substituted. Experience in these knowledge/skills/abilities may be earned concurrently.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree; Blood Borne Pathogens Certification, Coach Comm Communications Certification.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Some knowledge of supplies, equipment and/or services ordering and inventory control
- must have excellent organizational and personal communication skills and demonstrate computer literacy/proficiency
