Who we are: Established in 2008, My Insurance Broker is a proud family-owned and Canadian-operated brokerage. As one of Ontario's fastest-growing online brokerages, we have forged strong partnerships with Canada's leading insurance companies. With multiple offices across Southern Ontario and a dedicated support center in Richmond Hill, we are committed to delivering superior pricing, comprehensive coverage, and exceptional service to our clients.

About the role: In this role, you’ll play an important part in evaluating risks, supporting new and existing business, and ensuring submissions align with carrier underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements. You’ll collaborate with brokers and insurance partners to make informed underwriting decisions, support profitable growth, and build strong, lasting relationships.

What you’ll be doing: Underwriting

Review and evaluate new and renewal submissions to assess risk acceptability, coverage requirements, premiums, and alignment with company and carrier underwriting guidelines.

Verify submission details and ensure all required documentation, signatures, and information are complete and accurate. Calculate premiums accurately by applying appropriate rates, surcharges, and eligible discounts. Monitor portfolio performance and support a balanced, profitable distribution of business across carrier partners. Monitor assigned broker accounts, support premium volume objectives, and assist with reporting and portfolio activities, including AutoPlus, MVR, and HITS. Track premium volumes and help ensure carrier-specific volume commitments are achieved.

Broker Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong working relationships with brokers, insurance carrier partners, and internal teams. Provide underwriting guidance, communicate decisions, and help brokers navigate complex risks and service-related matters. Support brokers and team members through training on underwriting guidelines, workflows, and system processes as needed. Communicate decisions, requirements, and follow-ups clearly and promptly to maintain high service standards. Escalate significant risks, submission concerns, workflow issues, and other matters to management. Take on additional responsibilities as required.

What we need you to bring:

College or University Degree or equivalent relevant experience. 1–2 years of underwriting experience within a general insurance brokerage. RIBO License or willing to obtain within the first year of employment.

CIP or CAIB Certification or working towards its completion is considered an asset.

Experience with insurance company portals and broker management systems, particularly EPIC, is considered an asset. Proficient with insurance policy systems as well as MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
