Job Description:
Microchip has an opportunity for Senior Manager-Supply Chain in the Supplier Operations department. This position will lead and develop a team of supply chain professionals across multiple manufacturing sites in the US to supply essential goods and services for critical operations.
Essential Functions
- Plan, direct, and coordinate purchasing activities for materials, products, and services.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements, including ITAR.
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes to increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance cost savings.
- Manage suppliers and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely purchase order placement, order maintenance, and resolution of supplier related issues.
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships that ensure reliable delivery, competitive pricing, and long-term partnership value.
- Monitor supplier performance through key metrics including on-time delivery, quality defect rates, and responsiveness.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve favorable pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements
- Ensure that purchased materials and services conform to or meet the specified requirements.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, engineering, planning, quality, and other departments to align procurement with organizational needs
- Participate in and lead department audits.
- Develop, monitor and measure annual and quarterly goals for the team.
- This position has the authority and responsibility for obligating Microchip Technology via purchase order and contract commitments.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline
- 5+ years of supply chain management job experience
- 5+ years of manager or supervisor experience
- Proficient with MS Office products; Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Strong organizational, documentation, and writing skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Able to contribute as a reliable and effective team member with minimal supervision
- Able to coordinate multiple facets of the operation
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, Supply Chain or Supply Management
- Strong familiarity with ERP/procurement systems and AI‑assisted sourcing tools
- Strong familiarity with Defense and Aerospace procurement
- Analytical skills for spend analysis, forecasting, and risk assessment

Benefits of working at Microchip
The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $89,000-$206,000.*
*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
