Job Description Summary As a Senior Data Scientist at Micron, you will employ techniques and theories drawn from areas of mathematics, statistics, semiconductor physics, materials science, and information technology to uncover patterns in data from which predictive models, actionable insights, and solutions can be developed.
You will interact with experienced Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Business Areas Engineers, and UX teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis projects and improvement of existing tools. In this position, you will help develop software programs, algorithms and/or automated processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. There will be significant opportunities to perform exploratory and new solution development activities.
Job Description Primary Responsibility, but not limited to
- Design and implement computer vision systems & deep learning models for object detection, image segmentation, anomaly detection, and automated inspection, including experience with cameras and vision inspection systems.
- Apply advanced AI techniques including few-shot learning, generative AI, and multimodal fusion (text, image, time-series) to solve manufacturing and environmental monitoring challenges.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, operations, and quality teams, including experience in project management, technical writing, and training/mentoring engineers in data science tools
- Design, develop, and program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for product improvement.
- Interact with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments.
- Deploy data science models and lead the end-to-end life cycle, including solution design, development, deployment, model maintenance and monitoring.
- Identify relevant insights from large data and metadata sources; interpret and communicate insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or Data Science with minimum of 3 years of data science experience.
- Foundation in statistical modeling, advanced analytics, and modern machine learning techniques.
- Experience in semiconductor yield analysis & process optimization (e.g analyzing FDC, SPC, Probe data)
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in computer vision and deep learning in image analytics with good understanding of image processing techniques.
- Experience in deploying end-to-end production grade AI solution in cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Proficiency with web development such as Angular or FastAPI or Docker.
- Strong proficiency in Python, with minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in SQL.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to effectively convey complex data insights to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality results in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with and applying generative AI and large language models (LLMs) in various areas such as image generation.
