The posting

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

About Our Team

Micron Technology's Front-End facilities in New York represent a vital part of the company's U.S. manufacturing growth strategy. The finance group supporting operations in New York works closely with site operations and global finance departments. They develop expandable financial workflows, improve cost insight, and assist business decisions as the site moves through construction, startup, manufacturing scale-up, and ongoing operation.

Position Overview

The Financial Analysis Manager, who reports to the leader of the New York Front-End Controller team, serves as a senior individual contributor. This role involves three main responsibilities: building scalable finance processes and systems, leading budgeting and production expense analysis, and supporting financial decisions for site and global collaborators.

This role supports building the finance expertise necessary to assist the Clay, New York site during the transition from construction to steady operations. The position delivers technical direction, mentoring, and information transfer as the New York Operations Finance team grows. The position will be based primarily in Boise for an initial onboarding and process-development phase before relocating to the site in Clay, New York.

Responsibilities

  • Develop scalable finance procedures and infrastructures
  • Lead the creation and rollout of scalable New York Front-End Finance processes, models, controls, reporting, and systems supporting product costing, financial analysis, forecasting, and long-term business planning.
  • Collaborate with the Director, New York Front-End Controller, to establish and grow the New York operations finance model, covering process documentation, training efforts, knowledge exchange, and mentoring of other financial analysts as the team develops.
  • Partner with global centralized finance teams to implement standard costing and other manufacturing-finance processes. Provide data and insights on manufacturing costs. Translate global cost-control mentorship into practical site processes and actions.
  • Discover and deploy process upgrades, automation, and AI-powered solutions that boost efficiency, data quality, and financial decision support.

Guide Financial Planning and Manufacturing Cost Assessment

  • Offer specialized knowledge in financial assessment, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling related to the construction, startup, ramp, and ongoing operating costs of the New York Front-End manufacturing facilities.
  • Analyze actual financial results against budget and forecast, explain significant cost and operational drivers, and recommend actions.
  • Build and maintain models that accurately assign costs to manufacturing, R&D, and other activities that share assets or resources in the development and manufacture of semiconductor products.
  • Examine economic and administrative cost factors, discover opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction, and communicate pertinent performance measurements to site and global partners.
  • Develop grant-related forecasts and cash-flow analyses for budgeting and long-range planning in partnership with the appropriate program, accounting, and finance teams.

Deliver Financial Decision Assistance and Oversight

  • Support capital-investment planning through return on investment, NPV, cash-flow, sensitivity, and scenario analysis for site expansion and long-term growth.
  • Partner with fab operations leadership and cross-functional teams to evaluate the economic and functional impact of central initiatives and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Support financial governance across site operations by maintaining appropriate processes, controls, and documentation consistent with corporate policies and U.S. GAAP.
  • Identify and communicate significant financial risks, opportunities, assumptions, and tradeoffs to support timely decision-making.
  • Prepare clear financial analyses, reports, and presentations for finance, operations, and leadership collaborators.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or a related area, or comparable relevant experience.
  • Over 8 years of advancing experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, cost finance, or related roles.
  • Experience developing financial models and analyzing financial and operational data to inform decisions.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial-control principles.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing needs, and develop structure in an evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master's qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related area, or equivalent experience.
  • CPA, CMA, MBA, or another relevant advanced credential.
  • Experience in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, construction, or another capital-intensive industry.
  • Experience with manufacturing cost accounting, standard costing, budgeting, forecasting, or variance analysis.
  • Experience supporting greenfield facilities, major expansions, or startup and ramp activities.
  • Familiarity with ERP, planning, reporting, or visualization tools such as SAP, SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, or comparable platforms.
  • Experience improving finance processes through automation, analytics, or AI-enabled tools.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
