The posting

Overview

Enterprises are rapidly increasing their use of AI agents, but many still lack a clear way to understand what agents they have, what those agents are doing, and whether administrative policies are being enforced.

Microsoft Agent 365 is building the core platform to address these needs across agents, tools, MCP servers, and models. The capabilities we build support experiences across the Microsoft 365 admin center, Cowork, security, FinOps, and partner integrations.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own a major area of Agent 365 Core. This person should be comfortable working across platform, product, and engineering boundaries and should have recent, hands-on experience building with AI.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities

A major Agent 365 priority

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and outcomes for one of our core areas: AI Registry, AI Observability, AI Governance and Enforcement, OnboardingYou will also connect your area to the broader platform so admins get one coherent experience rather than a collection of separate features.

Platform contracts

  • Define and drive the entity models, signal contracts, governance APIs, or onboarding patterns that Microsoft and partner teams depend on. Make clear decisions about what belongs in the platform, what belongs in individual products, and how the pieces work together.

Cross-company alignment

  • Drive decisions with teams across Entra, the Microsoft 365 admin center, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, Purview, Defender, and our partner ecosystem. Many of these teams will not report to you, so success will depend on clarity, technical depth, and follow-through.

Measures and accountability

  • Define the measures that show whether the platform is working, including coverage, freshness, verified enforcement, and time from a partner decision to the first usable signal. Publish the scorecard and use it to drive decisions.

Customer and partner discovery

  • Work directly with enterprise IT and security leaders, as well as partner developers. Translate their scenarios into reusable platform capabilities rather than one-off solutions.

Hands-on AI work

  • Use AI as part of your day-to-day work. Build prototypes, run evaluations, analyze data, and regularly demonstrate what you are learning. Help the PM team use agents effectively for research, specifications, and analysis while maintaining a high bar for accuracy and quality.

Show us your AI work

Along with your resume, include a link to a short example of your work. This can be a document of up to two pages, a repository, a deck, or a five-minute video.

Please cover the following:

1. Something you built with AI

Share a prototype, agent, tool, automation, or analysis you built. What problem did it solve? What did you use? What decision or outcome did it influence? Include links or examples where possible.

2. A process you improved with AI

Describe a process you changed for yourself or your team. What did the process look like before and after, and what measurably improved?

3. A time AI output failed

Describe a time when AI-generated output was incorrect, generic, or unsupported and progressed further than it should have. How was it caught? What was the impact? What guardrails did you put in place afterward, such as evaluations, grounding, review checkpoints, or team norms?

4. Your operating rules

If you were leading a PM team working alongside AI agents, what three rules would you establish to get the benefits without compromising quality?

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience in product or program management, software development, or equivalent experience.

Preferred

  • Experience shipping platform or infrastructure capabilities that other teams build on, including APIs, data models, developer platforms, telemetry and observability, identity, or policy systems.
  • Recent hands-on experience building with LLMs, agents, MCP, and evaluations, ideally within the last 12 to 18 months.
  • A track record of aligning multiple engineering and product organizations without direct authority.
  • Experience working with enterprise IT and security leaders, partner developers, or ISVs.
  • Strong data skills. You can write and validate queries in KQL, SQL, or a similar language, including queries developed with AI assistance.
  • Strong written communication. Our specifications are read by engineers, partners, executives, and AI agents.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
