Overview

Do you want to change the way the world works with, analyzes, and makes decisions using data? Do you want to have immediate impact on millions of customers, using the latest advances in agentic AI to help people solve the critical, everyday problems that move their work forward?

In the Excel Product Group, we’re building an intelligence layer that does just that, and we’re just getting started. We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager, Excel Copilot to join us as we reinvent what it means to work with data, bringing the power of the world’s best AI models together with Excel to give every person new superpowers for getting their work done.

Excel is one of the world’s most widely used tools for working with data. From a student building their first budget, to an analyst forecasting a business, to experts building extraordinarily sophisticated financial and operational models, people turn to Excel to understand information, explore possibilities, and make decisions.

Our team builds the core Excel experience across Windows and Mac. We continually evolve the product itself, bringing new capabilities to the grid and calculation engine while preserving the flexibility, performance, and compatibility that customers depend on. And we build the collaborative experiences that allow individuals and teams to work together, share what they know, and make better decisions.

At the same time, advances in AI are creating the opportunity to fundamentally rethink what Excel can do, and our primary focus is bringing Copilot and agentic AI deeply into the Excel experience so customers can move from intent to outcome dramatically faster, tackle work that previously required specialized expertise, and accomplish more without giving up the power, flexibility, and control that make Excel unique.

We are a diverse, worldwide, passionate, customer-obsessed team with a highly collaborative environment. We believe world-class products come from world-class teams, and we work as deliberately on our culture as we do on our product. We want an environment where people understand and respect one another, bring their unique perspectives to hard problems, debate the right path forward with curiosity and conviction, and do the best work of their careers together.

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager, Excel Copilot to shape how Excel takes advantage of the rapid evolution of foundation models and agentic AI to make Excel Copilot the best-in-class tool for working with data as part of our Models and Signals team, driving constant improvement in response to customer signal and model enhancements.

You’ll work at the intersection of customers, product, engineering, applied science, and design, deeply understanding the jobs people rely on Excel to accomplish and translating those needs into product and technical choices. Your goal is deceptively simple: help us hill-climb toward an intelligent Excel experience that gives every customer the right capabilities for the task they’re trying to accomplish.

This isn't primarily a coordination role. You'll own developing a point of view grounded in customers and data, turning that understanding into strategy and testable hypotheses, making tradeoffs, shipping, measuring what happens, and deciding what we should do next.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
