Our team is developing an exabyte-scale security data platform that processes data across billions of streams, files, tables, and reports. The platform brings together security data from across on-premises, multi-cloud, and SaaS environments, helping organizations discover and understand their digital assets, integrate and normalize data from disparate sources, and more effectively address critical security and governance needs.

Using advanced graph technologies, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, we are building capabilities that help customers identify patterns, uncover threats, understand relationships across their digital estate, and make informed security decisions at scale.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering this platform from the ground up. You will tackle complex distributed systems and data challenges, work with cutting-edge technologies, and collaborate across teams to build scalable solutions that help organizations better understand and secure their digital environments.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project manager, technical lead) to determine user requirements for a scenario.
  • Designs, develops, and delivers scalable software solutions for a high-performance data platform that processes large volumes of security data across distributed systems.
  • Contributes to the architecture and technical design of services that ingest, process, normalize, store, and analyze data from diverse security data sources.
  • Builds reliable and efficient distributed systems designed to operate at exabyte scale across billions of data streams, files, tables, and reports.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Leverages a variety of feedback channels to incorporate insights into future designs or solution fixes.
  • Ensures appropriate continuous feedback loops measuring customer value, usage patterns, and other actionable metrics of value are incorporated.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or PythonOR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or PythonOR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience designing, building, or operating scalable distributed systems, data platforms, or large-scale cloud services.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Knowledge of security principles and challenges associated with securing large-scale, distributed systems.
  • Experience developing or operating high-scale, mission-critical software-as-a-service (SaaS) products or services.
  • Experience with security data, large-scale data processing, logging, telemetry, monitoring, or related data platforms.
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, and distributed system design.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and deliver reliable, high-quality software solutions.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
